Hello,
SNMP monitoring is enabled in Cisco Switch C3750. And Data collection objects are collected correctly (sysName, sysUpTime,..) but interface list is not.
And everytime i try full poll configuration, i get Unable to get interface list from node.
Besides, information in Object Details is missing, like System Description
I don't know what i can make to make it happen correctly espesially that i searched in the forum and didn't find any clue.

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

By playing with the configuration of that node, changing the community string to a faulty string, there's a notification saying that communication with snmp agent is lost.
But once i put the correct community string, and force polling, it says in the log :

[17.08.2016 15:43:15] **** Poll request sent to server ****
[17.08.2016 15:43:15] Poll request accepted
[17.08.2016 15:43:15] Starting configuration poll for node R1

[17.08.2016 15:43:15]    Connectivity with SNMP agent restored
[17.08.2016 15:43:15]    SNMP agent is active (version 2c)
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Capability check finished
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Checking interface configuration...
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Unable to get interface list from node
[17.08.2016 15:43:17]    Interface "unknown" is no longer exist
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Interface configuration check finished
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Checking node name
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Node name is OK

[17.08.2016 15:43:17] Node configuration was changed after poll
[17.08.2016 15:43:17] **** Poll completed successfully ****

Which means that the snmp communication between the node and server is ok.
But, i still do not find the interfaces of my router, discovered.

Hi,

please set debug level to 6, run configuration poll, and show all log records related to that router.

Best regards,
Victor

Hello Sir,
I set the debug level to 6 and re-run polling on node R1 which is a Cisco Router, in the same LAN (to remove any possibility of security checks) and filtered the event log to display only entries related to R1.
Thank you in advance.

Here is another log file after about 4 hours, thought that might contain more information.

I rebuilt NetXMS environnement with a fresh install of the OS, SQL and a different router, but always the same result.
I don't know what i am missing..

Lotfi

Here is the result of the command "debug snmp packets" i used to see if there's communication between NetXMS server and that router.

Have you tested polling the node with the setting (under "Polling" on the node) "Use ifXTable for interface polling" either on "Enable" or "Disable"?
I don't have a access to a Cisco 3750, so I can't test this directly.

Lotfi

Thank you for your reply, I already tested changing the "Use ifXTable for interface polling" parameter. What i noticed yesturday, that interfaces were read once, but when i tryed to force full configuration polling again, everything was lost.

Besides, i already changed the 3750, to 7200.

I have a stack of 4 C3750E here with no problems in NetXMS, SNMPv3. If I can test something for you, please ask.

Victor Kirhenshtein

Is it possible to provide me remote SNMP access to that device? I'll be able to debug it then.

Best regards,
Victor

Lotfi

Thank you for your reply,
I really feel confused right now, because, even Servers (MS Windows Server) that i want to monitor with SNMP, their SNMP information (OBJECT OID,...) are not displayed.
Victor, for the access, the router is not published on internet. and that might be refused here, but i can manage to give you access with Teamviewer if you permit. We make an appointment so both of us would be connected, and you'll have access.

Hi,

we can have session tomorrow after 14:00 EET. Please send me private message with your contact details.

Best regards,
Victor

Lotfi

I sent you contact information for Teamviewer in private message.
Thanks in advance.

Lotfi

Hello, did you receive information I sent you, Virctor?
Regards.
