When I try to start a physical linux node by 'Tools - Wakeup node' I get this error in NetXMS Management Console (on Windows 64bit):

'Wake node' has encountered a problem
Cannot send wake-on-LAN packet to node: No MAC address on interface

But there is a MAC address on interface eth0 in NetXMS and other Wake-on-LAN tools can start the same target machine.
(NetXMS 1.2.17)

Hi,

I've registered it as a bug. We'll take a look.

Best regards,

Does this node have other interfaces and does they have not zero MAC?

Dani@M3T

There are only 2 interfaces, the 'eth0' with a MAC-address and the loopback 'lo' with 00:00:00:00:00:00.

Tatjana Dubrovica

Thank you! Were taking incorrect interface. I'll fix.

I just tested this issue in V2.0-M1. Still not working.
Error Message:
'Wakeup node' has encountered a problem.
Cannot send wake-on-LAN packet to node: Communication failure

Tatjana Dubrovica

So still "Wakeup node" works for interface and does not work for node?

Dani@M3T

both doesn't work for me. With other WakeOnLAN-Tool it works.

Finally fixed. Will be included in next release.

Hi Tatjana

I can confirm, Wake-On-LAN is now working on the node- and on the interface-object.
One appendix:
If the node is 'unmanaged' in NetXMS you still get the error "Cannot send wake-on-LAN packet to node: No interface for sending magic packet". I don't know whether this is intended. It would be nice to use it however.

Tatjana Dubrovica

Does node have at leas one not loopback interface with valid IP address?

Dani@M3T

yes, of course. Otherwise wake-on-LAN with managed node would not be possible. That works now.
But if the (same) node is set 'unmanaged' in NetXMS, wake-on-LAN is not possible. But that would be helpful.

Fix will be included in next release.
