To install Windows agent with possibility of future centralized upgrade,
you should use agent package from
http://www.netxms.org/download/agent_packages
Current version is nxagent-0.1.14-win32.exe. Simply run this exe file,
and walk throgh setup wizard. If you already have Windows agent
installed, remove Windows service first by running "nxagentd.exe -R".
Installer will create three directories under your selected installation
directory: bin, etc, and var. Put your nxagentd.conf into etc directory.
Don't forget to specify InstallationServers parameter! It's also
recommended to set FileStore parameter to <your_install_dir>\var.

Victor
