1) CTCo use something like p3-700 with 512mb of ram, ide hdd, monitoring
and database (mysql) on same box, cpu load - up to 30%, os - freebsd.

2) Yes, you can use snmp (traps too). to configure:
  * Open object browser
  * right-click on node -> "Data Collection"
  * in "Data Collection Configuration" window right click -> "New"
  * Change "Origin" from default "NetXMS Agent" to "SNMP Agent"
  * Use "Select" button to open MIB browser or enter OID manually in
"Parameter" field.
