Hello!

Service objects is intended to be created under node object, because
service is running on physical host. So you should make service a child
of node object this service running on. This is the way how monitoring
server knows what address it should connect to check service state - it
connects to parent node's address.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Victor

Subject: [netxms-users] Error trying to create a service

Im trying to create a service to monitor my e-mail server.

I go to CREATE / SERVICE
give it a name "Mail Server"
i pick the service "SMTP" and port (in my case 225)
I give the request "ehlo"
and put "250 Welcome (machine name)" in the expected response field.

I make it a child of the Services group, hit OK and get the
error...........

Error Creating Object:Incompatible Operation

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Sam
