RE: Invalid Object ID error

Hello!

It's a bug. Idea behind this is that operation "move to template" was
not intended to move DCI from one template to another. Of course, it
should not be enabled for DCIs defined in a template, and console
shouldn't crash.
Purpose of this operation is following:
If you have one node already configured with some DCIs, and wish to make
a template with such configuration, you can select "move to template"
for DCIs configured on node. This will copy DCI configuration to
template, and then create a relationship between newly created template
DCIs and original DCIs on node, so any changes in template will reflect
original DCIs as well. Looks like operation name is misleading, but I
can't imagine how to call it better... Maybe somebody have a suggestion?
And to move DCIs between two templates better use "copy to other node"
operation and then delete original DCIs.
For the future, I see two ways: change "move to template" operation so
depending on source object class (node or template) it behaves
differently; or rename this operation, and create usual "move"
operation, which will just move DCIs as expected.

Best regards,
Victor

Subject: [netxms-users] Invalid Object ID error

When tryingto move DCI's from one template to another I get "Error
moving items:Invalid Object ID", console with then crash as soon as I
try any other function. Any clues? Also when trying to add a bitmap
for the node map I get an Input/Output error, but no crash.

thanks
sam
