I just did a new install of version 0.2.15. Seems much more stable for
me than the last version. The first thing I did was enable Active
Discovery on the network and set my active filter to 10.4.0.0/16. It
added many devices and some devices that aren't even on the 10.4.0.0/16
networks. Here are my questions.
1) Does NetXMS read the arp table of the device it polls and then try
to discover everything on the arp table as well? How did it pick up
devices that don't have a 10.4.0.0/16 address? Now I do have devices on
the 10.4.x.x network that also have interfaces on 10.3.x.x and other
nets. Seems like it added devices because of those interfaces somehow.
That's not a problem, just wondering how this piece works.
2) For some reason, none of the discovered devices have DNS names. I
looked through the config and ResolveNodeNames is set to 1. Is there
anyway to get my devices in my map to use DNS names if they exist? I
don't really want to go back and change all the names manually.
Nice work on it Victor. It really is looking good.
