Hello.

Yep, portchecker configuration is weird (and we have plans on changing
it). I'll try to find description in my mail archive.

For SMTP you need to set only "request" field to some existing email,
then portcheck subagent will try to send an email to this address (only
plain SMTP is support by now - no ssl and auth).
