Is it possible to have two networks with same IP subnet?

Hi Just a quick question - I don't think this is possible but if anyone else knows it would be great to hear. I'm looking to use NetXMS as a way to monitor some customer networks but sometimes the same subnet is used at two different clients and from what I can tell, NetXMS would just bunch them together as one. Is there any way around this problem?

Hi!

No, it's not possible. We are planning to add this feature in future versions.

Hi Victor,

That's great news. I know that it's difficult to say but do you have any idea of when you think this added functionality might be released? Is this something that you have already started working on or might it be 6-12 months away?

Many thanks,

Adrian

Hi!

It's really difficult to estimate release time for this feature. We start working on it some time ago (it's called "zoning" in NetXMS), but then development was suspended. In a short time we plan to release stable version 1.0 and focus on developing 1.1 branch. This feature definitely will appear only in 1.1, if I will have enough resources - withing 6 month.

Best regards,
Victor

Hi Victor,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll look out for it. Good luck with the 1.0 release.

Hi Victor,

Has this 'zoning' for overlapping subnets made it into 1.10 - can't see any mention of it in the release notes.

Kind regards,

Hi!

Unfortunately it requires more changes in server's code then I expect initially. I'm working on this right now. It should be included in 1.1.1 release.

Hi!

Finally, zoning is implemented in version 1.1.1.
