It says client-agent "inactive", but that's not true!

Hello,
I've installed the client-agent on the netxms-server (may be I didn't need) and on every other
client on the net I want to monitor.

In the console->object browser it says that the agent from the server is "active" and shows every information. *great*

But only a few (about 3 of 16, not depending on the OS) clients have also status "active" - the other agents are all "inactive".
Pinging is for all hosts possible and no one has such a red (ping-) error sign in its host-sign (in object browser).
The clients are using WinXP and Server2003.
All clients have the "nxagentd.exe" running and the NetXMS-service started (what's the difference? the service only starts the .exe-file?).

I have noticed that the process nxagent.exe uses about 8 MB of RAM (max 16MB) - is that normal? seems to be much..

By the way there's no firewall installed (--> port 4701/4700 UDP&TCP) - no windows-firewall and the (cisco-) router routes everything.

greetings - christian meisel.

Hello!

NetXMS server polls for configuration changes (configuration polls) not instantly, but with interval (1 hour by default). If you just install agent on host, NetXMS server will know about it when next configuration poll occurs. You can also manually run configuration poll by right-clicking host object and selecting Poll -> Configuration.

Best regards,
Victor
