Title: Manual object position in IP topology map?
Post by: simostaf on March 11, 2022, 12:03:06 PM
Hello,
I'm a new user with NetXMS.

My primary goal is to use the application to do a mapping of our office network, so I have installed it (v4.0) on a Debian VM, configured for some network discovery, and on the following day I created an IP topology map to display the results.

Now, I'm able to move the objects on the map to make the map more readable, but I wasn't able to make such objects to 'stick' to the manual position, either if I close and open again the map, or if there is a periodic map update, the objects returns to their original position.
Is there a way to avoid that?

Thanks

Hi,

you can turn off automatic layout for map by right click - selecting "layout" - unchecking "enable automatic layout".

Best regards,
Victor

Thanks!

What happens if new objects are discovered after disabling the automatic layout?

They will appear in upper left corner.
