Title: Manually build alert dependencies
Post by: flhtc on September 04, 2015, 07:41:47 PM
Okay... Maybe I should be asking, is it possible to have dependencies?  I've watched videos, read manuals, wikis, etc...  Every monitoring system I've tried so far had called it something different.  Maybe I'm just missing the boat here by no knowing the nomenclature here.  Just a point in the right direction would be appreciated.

BTW, now running 2.0RC1

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find what I'm looking for in any of the manuals, wiki or this forum.

Is there a way to manually build dependencies for email alerts?  We have some sites that are only accessible via VPN, so routing tables aren't available.  We only want to receive an alert for the last hop and not all the equipment behind it. I am running 1.2.17.

Thank You

Hi,

you can create VPN connector objects to match your VPN topology - then NetXMS server will know that remote network is behind VPN gateway and will correlate gateway down event properly.

Best regards,
