We are running NetXMS 1.2.17 on a Windows 2012R2 server and monitoring several hundred nodes.  We have noticed that on the server hosting NetXMS we are getting the following System Event log entry about every 65 seconds: "Unknown SNMP variable type 0x00000005 in GET response PDU" The Event ID: is 24 and it's source: is NetXMSCore

Does anyone have any ideas on what is actually generating the event log and most importantly how to stop the entries from flooding our Event Log?

Thanks.

Hi,

yes, it's a bug in server SNMP code. Type 5 is NULL - it seems that some device reports missing OIDs by setting type to NULL instead of reporting error. I've fixed that - fix will be included in 2.0-M1 release.

Best regards,
Victor
