Title: netxms server "cannot connect to Service Manager"
Post by: GoForIt on May 21, 2013, 07:05:51 PM
Hi there,

I am new to netxms.

I successfully installed Netxms but am now running into trouble with configuring it. Attached is the screenshot with the message I got. Basically, I went through installing the DB, configuring the server but access to the "Service Manager" was denied for whatever reason.

I would appreciate your kind support.
Best regards

Hi,

If current user is not an administrator installer should ask to run with elevated privileges, did it ask?

If user is not an administrator you can try to:

1) Force installer to run as administrator (right mouse button on program e chose "Run as administrator"
2) Temporary promote current user to belong to administrator group (ad then demote it after install/config is finished)
3) Disable (temporary) the UAC (User Access Control), from "Control Panel"|"User Accounts"|"User Accounts"|"Change User Account Control settings"|"Never notify"

Hope this help.

Best regards,
Marco

Thanks, Marco!

I solved the problem by running the application from the server console. There might be an issue with the wizard. The console worked fine.

Many thanks again.
