Title: Sharing Standard Templates for NetXMS
Post by: darshakamodi on September 07, 2011, 08:10:13 AM
Dear All,

Can we have a standard repository/post where all can share their standard templates
e.g routers, switches, database etc this will help others to minimize efforts and streamline  process.

Thanks
Darshak

That's a good idea. For now, I'll stick this topic and suggest to post templates here. When we will have some templates ready for publishing, I'llput them on web site.

Best regards,
Victor

Hi all,

I have attached a xml file containing the events and their correlated snmp traps of the netapp filer.i have taken the info from data on tap 7.2.6.1.
i have not exported nor created event processing rules with correlation between events since it is impossible to export them so as for now everyone is for himself.

Traps and events for Infoblox appliances.  You probably want to modify the event message text since it currently contains the trap description.  It was the only sane way I could think to populate the field with something meaningful.

EDITED: I had to update the xml file since the Infoblox doesn't necessarily send the varbinds in the correct order.

Hi all,

in continuing my former post about netapp traps and events i have attached a 7zip file containing 2 files:
1. complete export file corresponding to netapp ontap v7.2.6.1 up to v8.0.1RC2 7mode. - this file includes the file i already posted and the additions that came with the mentioned release.
2. a file containing only the additions that came with v8.0.1

Have fun,

We currently have the Zabbix system in production monitoring our infrastructure for a few years now.  We are currently looking at Netxms as an upgrade to our current system.  We have installed the windows version of Netxms for Dev Testing, and was looking to those that have a system in place and already familiar with Netxms, to donate a couple of templates to get us started in the conversion.

Templates needed...

Windows Server baseline monitoring
MSSQL baseline and services
MSExchange 2010 baseline and services

These template would certainly get us started in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Ron.

Hello,

I tried to use HP.xml for Import from Hanfelt (Post April 06, 2017).
* HP.xml (78.52 kB - downloaded 23 times.)

The Import ends with error:

Cannot import configuration: Configuration cannot be imported because of validation errors

How can I import the XML-File?

I use version 2.1-RC1

Going through our SNMP based templates right now and will be posting a few over the next few days (once I clean them up a bit by removing our custom events, thresholds and stuff).

APC, CyberPower & Eaton UPS

Starting with APC, CyberPower and Eaton XUPS.
Especially APC has probably been done to death, so I'm throwing in our Object Tool for APC UPS which allows triggering a Self-Test or Runtime Calibration directly from within NetXMS (SNMP Write access to UPS is required).
For the Eaton template, we only have a single IBM XUPS (which uses Eaton), so the auto-bind script is extremely limited as I have no other examples. If anyone has more of those devices it might be an idea to update the template accordingly.

DELL OpenManage SNMP template

Applies to:
- Systems with Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10 (i.e. reporting as "Linux") and a valid entry for .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.300.80.1.2.1.1 (DELL -> BaseBoard -> Chassis -> BaseBoard Index)
- Windows systems with "Dell OpenManage Systems Management" or "Dell EMC OpenManage Systems Management" software installed

Requirements for Windows:
- Windows SNMP service needs to be installed before DELL OpenManage. Otherwise you'll be missing the SNMP agents.

We don't have a lot of DELL systems and none with Linux, so can't comment on the requirements here.

DELL iDRAC SNMP template

Applies to:
- Systems with Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5

There is obviously quite an overlap with the OpenManage template, but the OIDs are in different parts of the tree. One is for the agents that are installed on a system, the other for the out of band management card.

Post by: paul on June 08, 2019, 03:02:51 AM
Great work Tursiops - fantastic contributions!!

DRAC is on my list as we have a couple of hundred of them scattered around. As many have links about as fast as a tin can and some string, we were judicious in what we monitored. Funny thing - again - we pick things not included normally such as LCD status - our global OK / NOTOK item.

Will also end up with a Xen and Centos applicable template once I get around to the Dells.

Applies to:
- Systems with Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.9.4.10
- Windows Systems with "HP Insight Management Agents" or "HPE Insight Management Agents" installed.

Requirements for Windows:
- Windows SNMP service needs to be installed before the Insight Management Agents. Otherwise you'll be missing the SNMP agents.

Sophos Email Appliance SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID of .1.3.6.1.4.1.2604 and an existing SNMP OID of .1.3.6.1.4.1.2604.2.1.1.2 which is not null.

Potential Issue:
On the system we monitor, the In-/Outbound Message counters seem to reset once a day, always at the same time, leading to nonsense values. A transform script was added to ignore such values. Depending on your email load, this may need to be adjusted (or a different solution found).

WD MyCloud SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID of .1.3.6.1.4.1.5127.1.1.1.2

Note:
- The Capacity Used % is a scripted DCI, the device itself does not provide a direct % for alerting. The DCI does not rely on the Total and Free DCIs, but collects both values independently via SNMP. If you have a range of these devices, it's probably worth changing the script.

QNAP NAS SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID matching .1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.* and a valid response for SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.1.4.1.1.1.1.4.2.0. (QNAP NAS Template)
- Systems with SNMP Object ID matching .1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.* and no valid response for SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.24681.1.4.1.1.1.1.4.2.0. (QNAP NAS (old) Template)

Notes:
I am unsure at which firmware version the new MIB kicked in. It also appears some older models even with the latest firmware are still using the old MIB. The extra check for the OID above seems to work well for identification though.

Also attached a separate template with three QNAP SNMP Traps (QNAP appears to simply send Inform/Warning/Error traps with different messages) and matching events.
Title: Re: Sharing Standard Templates for NetXMS

WatchGuard Firewall SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID matching .1.3.6.1.4.1.3097.* (WatchGuard Template)
- Systems with SNMP Object ID matching .1.3.6.1.4.1.3097.* and a valid response for SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.3097.6.6.1.0 (WatchGuard FireCluster Template)

Note:
- The Used RAM % is a scripted DCI, the device itself does not provide a direct % for alerting. The DCI does not rely on the Installed/Free RAM DCIs, but collects both values independently via SNMP. If you have a range of these devices, it's probably worth changing the script.

Also attached a separate template with a simple SNMP Trap for Alerts triggered by WatchGuards. Every alert triggers the same trap.
Configuring alerts via SNMP Traps is a bit of a pain in Watchguards, as you need to enable SNMP, configure the destination and enable alerts in every little service/proxy/whatever you might want to get alerts for..

SonicWALL SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.8741.1

Note:
- The Concurrent Connections % is a scripted DCI, the device itself does not provide a direct % for alerting. The DCI does not rely on the Maximum and Current DCIs, but collects both values independently via SNMP. If you have a range of these devices, it's probably worth changing the script.

Ruckus Brocade ICX SNMP Template

Applies to:

TP Link Switch SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID matching .1.3.6.1.4.1.11863.5.*

Note:
- We only monitor one of these and it's not returning a lot of data (that we found useful from a monitoring perspective), so the template is fairly simple.
Title: Re: Sharing Standard Templates for NetXMS

UniFi Switch SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.4413 and system description starting with "USW-".

Notes:
- We are monitoring only one of these and the above looks like it should work for other UniFi switches if this one device is anything to go by. Problem with .1.3.6.1.4.1.4413 is that it is the Broadcom Enterprise, so could potentially be matching a lot of other devices if it wasn't for the additional system description restriction. As all data for the UniFi switch is also located in the Broadcom Enterprise, this could maybe be turned into a more generic Broadcom template (someone with matching devices would be able to confirm this).

Lenovo XClarity / IBM Integrated Management Console SNMP Traps Template

The traps all contain the same varbinds. The trap configuration in this template pick out the following:
- Datetime
- Priority
- Message Text
- Message ID Prefix

The Event includes the Datetime, Prefix and Message Text.
Priority is read inside the Event Processing policy, which changes the Events severity as needed. The policy is effectively used as "SNMP Trap Transform Script".

No policy for alerting is included, but that could be done inside the included policy or by adding another one below it (processing does not stop at the transform policy).

Ruckus ZoneDirector SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Systems with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.25053.3.1.5.*

Note:
- Unnamed WAPs in ZoneDirector will show up with the same instance name, making it difficult to tell them apart. It is recommended to ensure they all have proper names.

Ubiquiti AirMAX SNMP Template

Applies to:
- Devices with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.10002.1 (Frogfoot MIB, which Ubiquiti at some point decided to use before they got their own Enterprise OID) or SNMP Object ID like .1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.* (Ubiquiti's own OID). Devices must also have a valid entry for OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.1.4.1.1.9.1 (i.e. must have an antenna registered)

Notes:
- Just to avoid potential disappointment: This is not a template for Unifi Access Points. It is for AirMAX wireless bridges.

Ubiquiti UniFi SNMP Template

Applies to:
- A range of devices with Ubiquiti-style messy OIDs depending on firmware versions (things changed with firmware version 3.9.19):
  - Devices with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.10002.1 or SNMP Object ID like .1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.* if a valid result is returned for OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.1.6.3.1.
  - Devices with SNMP Object ID .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.3.2.10 if a valid result is return for OI .1.3.6.1.4.1.41112.1.6.3.1.0.
  - The Ubiquiti template applies to anything with either 10002 or 41112 match as well as 8072. In case of the latter, the system description also needs to start with UAP.

Notes:
- The pre/post 3.9.19 UniFi templates included in the XML both collect the exact same data. They only cater for the fact that Ubiquiti decided to change the OIDs used.

HP Color LaserJet Supply levels and page counts.

Note, this should also work for mono Lasers, but you might have to delete some DCIs.
I took the values from my HP Color LaserJet M254dw

The next thing to add to this would be to get the graphs to automatically display the right legend for each toner cartridge.
I tried to follow https://www.netxms.org/forum/general-support/is-it-possible-to-use-text-from-another-snmp-attribute-for-the-legend-on-graphs/msg30369/#msg30369 (https://www.netxms.org/forum/general-support/is-it-possible-to-use-text-from-another-snmp-attribute-for-the-legend-on-graphs/msg30369/#msg30369), but still don't understand it :(

Let me know if you can think of any improvements as this is my first successful attempt :)

VMWare Memory, CPU and Storage
Don't ask about other values (IOPS, latency etc), as I haven't figured it out yet, and may require PowerCLI or something annoying  :(

See attached screenshots for examples.
To make things easier, add the datastore names as persistant storage keys and values.
You can then reference them in the scripts using the name rather than the annoyingly long mount points. Of course there's no easy way of finding out this in the first place, other than SSHing into the server and doing a "df", or looking in the vCenter DataStore sections. Datastore names are not queryable via SNMP as far as I can tell, which is lame.

The template should auto apply, but once they have applied to your servers, you will need to add some DCIs manually using the included scripts to correctly deal with the datastores.
The getVMWareCPULoad(totalCPUUsage) is used to monitor total CPU usage for all cores, as with most VMWare servers, graphing individual CPUs will probably end up with a crazy graph with mainly black lines unless you can be bothered to find 32 different colours for your 32 cores :/
getVMWareCPULoad will add up CPU usage from each core, and using getVMWareCPULoad(totalCPUCountX100) can be used to get a line to show if all cores were using 100%.

Hopefully this is useful. If you have any suggestions on how to add more useful metrics, please let me know!
Thanks :)
