General Support / Duplicate Nodes
March 23, 2014, 12:58:46 PM
Hi Victor,

i have installed v1.2.13 and the on going problem i have with the duplicated nodes still exists.
i said before that i had this problem only on my linux platform but i have 1 node on my windows platform that has the same problem.
this node is based on dhcp and when i changed it's mac address it's ip address changed too. for some reason netxms didn't fixed the values and what i did. is to changed the "primary host name" to the correct ip address and ever since this node is rediscovered. i have to say that i didn't do this procedure on my linux platform but on the linux i have 30 or so duplicated nodes.

we have to find the problem.

Hi,

i have installed v1.2.13 which is suppose to have a driver for cisco small business driver and on the switch i do see that it uses this driver however, when i look at the "ports" tab of the switch the ports layout is wrong. in my case it is esw450 and the ports numbering starts on the first row and the goes on to the second row and what i see is that number 1 is in the upper row and number 2 is below it.

hi victor,

just upgraded to 1.2.13 and there is still a problem. maybe the method of the deployment must be changed.
if to upgrade i need to contact the agent and the upgrade process shuts it down then some thing is suppose to continue the process and there isn't any.
as for now, i have installed only 3 agents but i believe there are users that have more then 3.

thank you edward.borst.
Victor - is it possible to have a difference, code wise, between linux and windows ? maybe a dumb question, but i am trying to figure out whether my problem is related only to linux based netxms server.

General Support / "Get DCI" Errors
February 23, 2014, 06:36:21 PM
Hi Victor,

CentOS v6.4 x86
postgresql v9.x
NetXMS v1.2.12
win 7 sp1 ent x64 for console
since i have replaced netxms with latest version i get "get dci" errors after period of time. closing the console and opening again solves the problem.
at the beginning i thought that there was a "timeout" or "idle" value but i have another 2 different netxms servers on 2 different networks running on win2k8r2 and win7pro as servers which do not have this problem. along with the problem i am facing for the past 10 releases or so, a problem that causing my server to duplicate nodes i am beginning to think that either i have a problem with my own linux server or there is a general linux problem.
i can not point what is the problem but i can say that i always install netxms from scratch and i did not see problem with the DB.using nxdbmgr always indicates that the DB is ok.

what can i do ?

Hi Victor,

So what is the problem ?
if i wasn't making my self clear, i had an older agent running and it failed to upgrade itself.

Hi Victor,

i try to deploy to windows 2008 r2 sp1.
manual installation works fine. from the looks of it, the server stops the service of the agent on destination computer and thus disable the ability to install the new agent.
i remember that once you told me that the remote installation depends on the existence of the agent.

General Support / Agents polling
February 20, 2014, 02:52:44 PM
hi,

i have just few servers with agents in a network that i didn't check for sometime. i have just upgraded the server to 1.2.12 and i wanted to update all the agents too.
in the past, the only way i found to have a list of all the nodes with agents was to create a container with filter script that adds only nodes with agents and when i checked it today i saw nothing. i restarted an agent on a known server, did a poll and it worked fine.
2 question:
1. why did the agent stopped responding even though the service was running ?
2. is there any other way to have a list {maybe static one} of all the nodes with agents on them ?

General Support / Configuration Poll - Request timed out
February 20, 2014, 02:13:12 PM
hi,

just upgraded to v1.2.12. server is centos 6.4 x86 with pgsql.
when i do a configuration poll on the node of the server and it gets to the part when it checks snmp i get the timeout error.
as far as i remember from previous versions it continued the poll even though he had problems with snmp.

Announcements / Re: NetXMS 1.2.12 released
February 19, 2014, 10:36:39 PM
Thank you Victor,

personally, i would have helped out more but i believe that i have a lot of missing knowledge to begin with.
an idea for a rapid solution will be to create some sort of a list of all the abilities and possibilities of the system {for example, a list of all the possible subagents} so that at least we will know how to better use the program and with the help of us, the users, fill out every section of the list along the way.

awesome work, awesome software, great excitement with every new release for me. keep up the good work.
