General Support / Re: Node Discovery

hi victor,

i have configured the server to run in debug 9 and could not find the source from which the server collect the nodes to insert.
i am attaching the log and screenshots so you could try and look for the reason.if i have a mistake in the network discovery configuration then just remember that i did not do any change in the discovery config and the server suddenly added the nodes.

hi victor,

you have added a "resolve" option to the alarms and if i get you right it should write "Resolved" since the icon is green.

General Support / "Interfaces" tab
July 25, 2012, 12:20:19 PM
hi victor,

you have added "peer..." options to the "interfaces" tab and when i look at the info i see doubles and i will explain.
i have a printer which is connected to port 2 and i see it on the peer name and it is correct but i see it also on port 20 and the difference between them is that the "admin state" and "oper state" are "down" and the "status" is "disabled".
i have seen this on other entities and i also see a desktop connected to one of this ports where in fact it is physically connected to another switch.
what is the problem ?

General Support / cisco-esw driver
July 25, 2012, 12:07:34 PM
hi victor,

many thanks for the driver, it works !!! but the layout is wrong. in this switch the upper row is numbered from 1-24 and the lower row is numbered 25-48 and the "ports" tab is showing the port as in real switch meaning that 1st upper port is 1 and 1st lower port is 2 instead of 25

General Support / Re: ctalyst driver
July 25, 2012, 10:04:19 AM
hi victor,

i want to use the "find switch port" function and i have discovered that it does not work on all nodes.if i am not mistaken, in order to be able to find a port of a node the node must be snmp enabled and it's mac addr listed in the switch and i have understood that from playing around.
now, my problem is that i have a tape library which is connected to a switch and it is snmp enabled with snmp v2c and yet i can not find it's port.this tape library is connected to a cisco switch which is discovered using the catalyst-generic driver meaning that the switch is fully managed by netxms.
i hope this is clarifying the question

General Support / Re: Node Discovery

hi victor,

is there any way to know where the server found those ip address from ?
this could be a feature request, display the source of the node/ip discovery.

General Support / Node Discovery
July 24, 2012, 10:03:52 AM
hi victor,

something really strange is happening.
i have enabled snmp on a hyper-v server {this is the last change that i can remember enabling} and when i came this morning the server have discovered ip's that are not assigned to anything and are not even in the dhcp scope. my subnet consist of no vlans and i use 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 for all the ip address.
all the unassigned ip that the server discovered are presented as nodes in critical state

what seems to be the problem ?

hi victor,

i have managed to operate this feature but there are problems.
snmp enabled devices like ibm ip kvm and ibm tape library which are connected to switches with drivers are not found, why is that ?
