General Support / Java Console - Refresh
May 03, 2012, 10:35:24 AM
hi,

using the 1.2.0 version.
i had a power failure that effected some servers but not the netxms server and my console.
i have received an alarm on a domain controller for being down but pinging it was successful.
i have waited about a minute or two just to be sure that it gets status polled and things were still the same.
now i can not remember if i polled the node or tried to delete the alarm first but when trying to delete the alarm it gave me an error.
basically, the alarm browser refresh was maybe sluggish or slow responsive or whatever.

General Support / Network Discovery

hi,

i have installed the new 1.2.0 version on centos with postgre sql.
i have activated the network discovery for a while and then turned it off but for some reason it is still working.
i do not want to stop and start the server but maybe this is a bug.

General Support / Re: ibm blade center
April 30, 2012, 07:28:08 AM
hi victor,

i have attached 3 screen shots of the FC module.basically "bay x" means the number of the blade and "ext x" means the ports connected to a san storage or switch.
it has a management or sup interface that holds it's ip but the communication to the module is routed through the blade management module which have a different ip, in this case is 172.16.4.60

hi victor,

now i can say for sure that the hba modules are not redetected but thay are not placed under the correct place in the subnet tree.
i can tell you that in the ibm blade center there are 2 management modules and the hba modules management interface is routed through them meaning that if the management module is down there will be no network connectivity to the hba module.

Announcements / Re: NetXMS 1.2.0 released
April 24, 2012, 10:23:32 PM
hi alex,

thank you very much.
how often will this pdf file be updated ?
when this wiki site will contain everything including the new functions and nxsl code for 1.2.0 ?
can we receive an announcement every time the wiki site and the pdf file got updated ? maybe version manage it meaning that every version that gets out will include a file with the version in it's name containing the latest changes ?
for example: wiki_1.2.0.pdf
every question that i ask via the form and i get an answer that is not mentioned in the help file i keep as a .mht file,i want to get to a level that this wiki site and the file will include things like the syntax for performance counter or wmi query so i want have to save anymore.
i know i am asking for a lot but bare in mind that this will help expand the usage of this truly awesome application.

hi victor,

i have upgraded the server and all to 1.2.0 and from first impression i can see that it does not re-detect the hba modules but it does not place them under the subnet container in the "entire network" tree.
i will wait until tomorrow to see if the hba's are being rediscovered and will keep you posted.

hi victor,

i must say that i would prefer to have a help file rather then have to go to the internet all the time.
will there be a way to download a structured file from this wiki pages ?

hi colin,

the latest stable release is 10.0.13 and the dev release or beta if you want to call it is 1.1.10.
the beta release is working rather fine and the only beta app i have ever used is the netxms.
1.1.10 has many improvements that the stable release does not have, improvements that i have necessary and useful.
i can't answers all the technical questions you asked due to the fact that i believe that they will well answered by the guy who is developing this awesome application.

Kind Regards,

General Support / network discovery
April 18, 2012, 10:08:57 PM
hi,
i have installed netxms on a computer with ip 10.33.9.5 and i wanted it to discover computers on other subnets 10.61.1-5.0/24
i have configured the network discovery to discover using active and passive and on the active networks to find i configured the above mentioned 5 subnets.i have to say that i can reach those subnets only by ping with no snmp ability to any node and all i want to monitor is alive/not alive.
did i configured it correctly ? when i configure specific network on active discovery, does that mean that it will try to ping all the addresses on the given subnet and add what it finds or it will try and find those subnets only if it finds them in the arp and route database?
