hi victor,

i have selected a server physicaly connemcted to a switch.
i can see all the switch info but when i try to find the switchport of the server i get "connection point information cannot be found".
now, the server is with the latest agent and it's snmp is enabled and the server was working through the night so i believe it had a lot of time to discover what it needs.
what is missing ?
do i have to have special config for the switch ? does the server use broadcast or unicast or anything to discover the ports and the connected endpoints ?

here are some options:

1. monitor port 25 - the basics to do that is to use a node which has netxms agent installed on it (if you have it on the mail server it is better) and then create a network service.try to look in the forum for the right syntax regarding network services
2. monitor the service of the mail server.

what mail server do you use ?

hi,

there is no way to delete an old agent from the "agent packages" when there is no actually file there.
i have added a package when i have installed v1.1.7 and upon upgrading to 1.1.8 i wanted to delete the 1.1.7 agent entry but it is impossible unless i manualy copy the file to the server and then delete it.

great release especially the catalyst driver {finally i can see all the info i wanted}.
what's next ? what will be the road-map to the next release ? when it will be released ?

the driver is working fine and i see the info in the "ports" tab but what i am missing is things like:
1. who is the master in the stack ?
2. the option to save switch configuration.
3. when displaying the stack,it will display the stack like it is physically mounted on the rack.
4. display the fan status and the temperature.
5. display of stackport wiring.

hi,

i have tested this driver and it seems to be working fine but the only ports that i get info on like "find switch port" are ports related or connected to other switches.
solarwinds have a program called lan surveyor and it shows the end node and where it's connected to and through which port,does netxms able to that using the driver or some dev. is in place to do that ?

in the old console i was able to open the default map that included all the network,how do i do that now {v1.1.8 and java console}

the bundled exe of the server (not the minimal version) includes an lder version of the java console and this is due to the error message saying " the server uses in compatible version..."

is mysql installed on your system ?
i would suggest installing the latest version and after that just read the "install" file in the netxms directory for instructions.
there is no need for you to create the db your self. there is a sql file for that.
