Greetings,

I am seeing this same behavior on v1.2.3.1 - it seems to be nodes with "loopback" interfaces that are appearing in the root of the tree, and not within the proper subnet container of the console.

Ooops.  I searched on Google, and found my answer on this forum:

Working flawlessly now!

General Support / Re: Need help troubleshooting

If you turn off SSL VPN services on the SonicWall, does it stop "changing" IP's and going offline in the NetXMS console?

We have the same setup, only we use a WatchGuard with SSL VPN for our remote users, and it is not our default gateway.  I've had no problems with NetXMS showing the WatchGuard as going offline, changing IP's, etc.

Greetings,

I need to change the IP address of the Centos v6.x server running NetXMS.  After I change the address, I can't launch NetXMS - it complains that another instance of NetXMS under the old IP address has the MySQL database locked, and it aborts.

How can I clear out the old IP information/unlock the DB?

Any help is appreciated!

General Support / No Network Map
October 13, 2012, 01:30:17 AM
Greetings all,

Using the latest version 1.2.3.1 of the server app and Java console, I am unable to display a network map.  I have tried seeding from different devices on different subnets, trying both IP and Layer 2, etc., but I just get a blank white page, no map.  Any advice is appreciated!

General Support / Too many alerts
October 12, 2012, 06:46:02 PM
Greetings,

Just upgraded to v1.2.3.1 - so far, so good! My question: When the gateway router goes down for any given subnet on our WAN, I receive "node down" alerts for each device within that subnet (servers, printers, etc.).  Of course, those nodes are not really down, just temporarily unreachable. In this situation, all I really need (and want) to know is that the gateway router is down, and that is all.  And then of course, a second alert when the router comes back up.

What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

Thanks,

-Kevin

General Support / Host polling - exclusion window
June 13, 2012, 04:11:41 AM
Greetings,

Is there a way to exclude a window of time during which hosts on specific subnets will not be polled?  For instance, I would like to not poll hosts between 6pm-7pm PST, because this is a time when many host machines are automatically restarted.

General Support / Host name display
June 07, 2012, 10:16:52 PM
Greetings,

We are running the latest v1.2.1, and I'm wondering if there is a way to truncate the host name that NetXMS finds using RDNS.  As it is now, we are seeing the FQDN (hostname.domain.com), and I would much prefer to just see the hostname on the console, in email alerts, etc.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

Announcements / Re: NetXMS 1.2.1 released

Hi Victor,

We are currently running v.1.1.9 - can we upgrade directly to the latest v1.2.1 version, or is there an intermediate step?

OK Victor, I ran the db check, and it did find several inconsistencies in the database (it seems all were related to the 192.168.1.0 subnet that I had removed).

Rather than go thru each of them, I ended up dropping the database, then re-creating it.  Everything is good now, and I am using autodiscover again but this time with a filter, so that it only looks at 50 of our subnets.

I manually deleted a subnet on our network (192.168.1.0), and that was removed, however the hosts that were discovered on the 192.168.1.0 network remain (they show down below on the bottom of the console view).  When I right click on those hosts and attempt to delete them, I do not receive an error... but they will not actually delete.

Is this because I deleted the subnet first, or?

General Support / Manually adding nodes
June 01, 2012, 02:34:32 AM
Greetings,

On a new install of v1.1.9, I would like to clear the database of all information that was auto-discovered, and then start fresh by adding nodes manually.  I am guessing I can just delete/recreate the MySQL db and then re-initialize it to clear things out (or is there an easier way?), but I don't see an option under the tools menu to add a node manually - how can I manually enter nodes using their IP address?

Thanks for the help!
