General Support / Re: install v2.1 on centos 6.9
July 10, 2017, 01:10:36 PM
hi victor,

i have configured system, admin, admins to have full access to the system.
i have logged on both as system and admin.
i am connecting to the server through the x64 management console through win7.
i do not see the "alarm category configurator", "event processing policy", "persistent storage", scheduled tasks, mapping tables, syslog parser, network discovery, server configuration, alarm browser, alarm log, audit log, event log, snmp trap log, syslog, import configuration, export configuration.

why is that ?
did i forget to enter something in the configure statement ?
is it related to the ssh ?

Hi Victor,

as i said, even the "admin" account does not have access to "server configuration" and etc.
i am missing icons of those abilities and i can not access user permissions.

something is very wrong.

ok,

went and enabled the "system" user.
changed it's password.
logged in with it and terminated the alarm.
logged in with admin again and disabled the system account.
now the status is as should be.
is this a regular process one must follow after upgrading {maybe installing...} to v2.1 ?

hi,

just did an upgrade from v2.0.8 to v2.1.
using an embedded sqlite.
the db upgrade failed to continue with an error on table idata111.
using the ignore option did the work but how can i know that everything is working fine ?

hi,

just did an upgrade on my home computer.
windows 2008 r2 with all updates. using embedded sqlite.
got the same kind of error. for some reason, system account does not terminate alarms correctly.
in the alarm log i can see the alarm as "outstanding" even though there is no alarm.
went to the db and changed the alarm to terminate, restart server service and the status changed back to normal.
disabled the network card an enable it and the alarm was not clear.
what could be wrong ?

July 09, 2017, 03:36:40 PM
hi,

i have upgraded to v2.1 on centos x64 v6.9.
i got 2 errors:
1. i have missing lib ssh. tried to install the package from the installation media but the package was already installed.
2. i have missing packages for mqtt

i have used the disable... as the "configure" procedure instructed and everything went fine.
i have use windows management console x64 v2.1 and for some reason i am not able to access things like alarm browser.
created a new user with all the permissions enabled and got the same.
checked that the admin has all the permissions and it does.

what happened ?

General Support / node status after v2.1 upgrade
July 09, 2017, 03:25:28 PM
hi,

i have upgraded to v2.1 on windows 2012 r2 with pgsql 9.5.
on one of my nodes i see that the status is warning. did some checks and found that user system found a MAC change, posted and cleared the alarm but the status of the node didn't change.
tried db check with tables and nothing happened, everything passed.
what can i do ?

General Support / v2.1 - management console

Hi,

just upgraded to v2.1 and it seems ok.
the only thing that bothered me is the height of the "filtering" box, can we reduce it to the size it used to be ? i used v2.0.8

General Support / Re: No trap events
May 24, 2017, 07:17:05 AM
hi,

try "logallsnmptraps" in server config.
check the event config in event configuration
#87
Hi Victor,

you have taught in the past that %1 is saved for the trap itself and that POS 1 is %2 and POS 2 is %3 and this what i did in the 1st place and got the wrong info as shown in the screenshots.
i have also tried to check the "never convert to hex" and this didn't help too.

this traps belong to fortinet core mib with snmpv2 traps if that helps.

Hi Tursiops,

i will try to clarify. i have changed the events when i did the testings and i have posted the latest event to show the configuration in case i did something wrong.
i have screen shoot some events that i got to show what i get when i use POS and what i get when i use OID in the varbinds.
i have added a screenshot of the internal unmatched event to show that it displays the information correctly even though the event itself is configured the same i have configured mine.
i have found for ex. that configuring using POS in the traps related to my ibm tape library, it worked fine

cheers
