General Support / Re: Uninstall Agent from command line
February 03, 2014, 10:29:00 PM
it seems that the unins000.exe was missing on only a couple workstations i looked at.  Not sure why but copying it to the workstations that were missing the files, all is well.

General Support / Uninstall Agent from command line
February 03, 2014, 06:56:40 PM
I cannot seem to find a way to uninstall the ver 1.2.9 agent from the command line.  i could uninstall previous agents using the c:\netxms\unins000.exe file but this agent version doesn't have one.  any suggestions?

one of the vendors is asking if there is a specific snmp oid netxms is looking for the forwarding database in?

I have several router/switch type appliances that netxms cannot get topology info. SNMP is enabled and working on these devices. Nextms can see their interfaces but it says "Failed to get switch forwarding database".  Most are linux based but I cannot install the netxms agent on them because they are locked down by the vendor.  Do you know of a way enable netxms to see the topology?  maybe create a special driver for them?  These problem devices are:

Astaro/Sophos ASG220 firewall (UTM 9)
Cipafilter (cipafilter.com) - ubuntu based webfilter
Meru wireless controller - MC1500
Netgear WG302 wireless access point

Thanks

I've attached some screen shots of the object details for each -is this what you wanted? (I also included a third device that has the same issue: a Promise Vessraid 1840i). When I view the LLDP, CDP or switch forwarding information, there is nothing for either device.  Routing table and Arp cache does show data for the astaro but only arp cache for the meru controller.

The wireless controller is a Meru 1500 controller and the Firewall is an Astaro Security Gateway 220 (now owned by Sophos).

General Support / Missing Layer 2 Nodes
February 27, 2013, 12:00:18 AM
I'm using Polycom soundpoint IP sip phones (which currently don't support snmp).  These phones have an extra ethernet port which a computer can plug into so that at a person's desk the phone and the computer workstation only need to use one ethernet port on the wall.  It seems that netxms cannot figure out layer 2 mapping for my workstations even if snmp is enabled and the netxms agent is running on the workstation.  Netxms does know the switch port the workstation and phone are "indirectly" plugged into on the switch, but when you try to view a layer 2 topolog poll for the workstation, it says it cannot.  It is strange that it knows what switch port it is plugged into but cannot show it on the layer 2 map.  Any suggestions?

General Support / Topology Information Missing
February 26, 2013, 04:36:28 PM
Was wondering how to get layer 2 topology information for some linux based hardware devices I have (Astaro Firewall, Meru Wifi Controller).  SNMP is working on these devices and netxms can poll them but says it cannot get layer 2 topology for those devices.  It does see the interfaces for the Astaro Firewall but doesn't see interfaces for the Meru wifi controller.  I have loaded the vendor supplied mibs for each device.  Any suggestions?
