Hi Victor,

Has this 'zoning' for overlapping subnets made it into 1.10 - can't see any mention of it in the release notes.

Kind regards,

Adrian

Hi Victor,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll look out for it. Good luck with the 1.0 release.

Hi Victor,

That's great news. I know that it's difficult to say but do you have any idea of when you think this added functionality might be released? Is this something that you have already started working on or might it be 6-12 months away?

Many thanks,

Adrian

Hi Just a quick question - I don't think this is possible but if anyone else knows it would be great to hear. I'm looking to use NetXMS as a way to monitor some customer networks but sometimes the same subnet is used at two different clients and from what I can tell, NetXMS would just bunch them together as one. Is there any way around this problem?

Hi,

My vote goes for the ability to specify a high level entity such as 'customer' in the object tree so that small MSPs could start using the software to support all of their customers with a single installation. This would enable each customer to have subnets that may overlap with other customers and would make it easier to delegate security if you wanted to allow a customer to log in themselves without seeing any other customers.

Each 'customer' entity could have their own network tree and their own settings that could override master settings if needed (SNMP community string for instance).

I've not yet tried it yet but what happens when two different devices, monitored by two different agents have the same IP address?

Cheers,

Adrian
