General Support / NetXMS server 3.5.90 crashing
September 18, 2020, 05:47:57 PM
NetXMS server crashing:

netxms version 3.5.90
platform windows server 2012 r2
database microsoft sql server 2014

2020.09.18 10:19:50.470 *E* [                   ] EXCEPTION C0000005 (Access violation) at 00007FFFFE4084CA (crash dump was generated); please send files
C:\\netxmsd-339780-1600436087.info and C:\\netxmsd-339780-1600436087.mdmp to [email protected]

I'm sure its probably a transformation, autobind, or event processing scripts, but in the limited time I have between starting the server and the time it crashes (repeatedly) I have not been able to identify it.

the mdmp is too large to email (600MB).

thanks for your help

Do you have an agent inside that edgerouters network?
Is there an IP upstream of that VPN connection that will respond to a ping?

If the answer is yes to those two questions, you can setup an Icmp Target on that agent and collect the icmp data as a table dci.

1. Make sure ping subagent is configured in the agents config file.
2. add an icmp target to an address on the other side of the vpn connection.
3. RESTART the agent
5. Run configuration poll on node
6. Create table dci from agent table

Are the subnet masks the same on the agent and the server?
If they are then you may have a problem with a duplicate subnet if they are not 'zoned'.
Most tunnelling cannot work with the same subnet on each end unless it is in a 'bridge' mode.

just my 2 cents.

You can disable this in Configuration->EventProcessingPolicy
#7 Generate alarm when incorrect network mask detected on interface ->Filter->EditCondition

Condition->rule is disabled
Events->SYS_INCORRECT_NETMASK

We had the same issue with 10.x.x.0/24.  if it finds a single unit with a /8 (or /16 in your case) it creates a subnet in Entire Network (or zone if enabled) that it then matches first.

Create a Dashboard with dashboard elements.  the element has a display time and then the next element is displayed.

dhcp or
some nefarious person has interjected a device in the line or
a windows machine has reset a programable network device, etc.

but most likely dhcp devices.  Netxms follows the ip not the mac.

Просто для дальнейшего использования, если кто-то пытается использовать стандартный OpenSuSE 12, сработает исполняемый файл linux static agent v 2.2.12 Зависимости GLIBC нарушаются в более поздних версиях агента. (перевод Google)

You should set them up as Zones if you dont want them to be considered on the same subnet.
You will need to setup a proxy that is either directly addressable by the NetXMS server or with an agent tunnel to the NetXMS server.

What are they matched on?
Name? id? guid ?

My bad then... if i misread the problem description.

In my opinion this is not broken....rather your templates are including nodes that they shouldn't or you have dci's that are too specific for the template.

Nodes can appear in multiple templates and we have some templates that depend on firmware versions and others that depend on application versions.  Each deployment will be different, but in general you should define templates from the general to the specific.

What OS is the client?
There are a number of older posts here mentioning ubuntu and libssl-dev.  Do you have that package loaded?

I have done this....its a bit of work to get started.
To begin with I created 4 x 1 colour 24x24 pixel png's. Black, green, yellow, and red.  I uploaded them to my image library.  Next I create a Network map->custom, with a black background color, but for now just leave it white and turn off "auto arrange".  You can now add "dci images" that map to your data source, with a default image of the black png, and place it where you want it.  You now setup "rules" on the "dci image" so different thresholds show a different colour image.

I usually go back after placing everything and turn the background black, but you can put a geo map or other image as your background.  My original goal was to make a LCARS display but real work took over and I just made a grid status display for a small number of systems/process indicators.  I also did a similar indicator setup on a picture of a switch with the indicators on the actual port lights to indicate status.

NetXMS has proved to be too good of a tool and we expanded to far too many devices to make this manual way worth it ( I ended up with a LOT of network maps that people just weren't using).  Now if I could dynamically feed a DCI summary table into a custom network map template that would be awsome.

Have Fun!
