Are you trying to login as "admin" or "system"?

Whole procedure should be like this:
1) stop netxmsd
2) run "nxdbmgr reset-system-account" to unlock "system" account
3) start netxmsd
4) login as "system" / "netxms"
5) In user manager change password any admin user
6) login as admin user and disabled "system" user

Hello Alex, glad to hear about you again. I followed your procedure and it worked, thank you. I didn't know there was a "system" user for netxms, as I tried to login with the default "admin" user given on installation guide.

Also I found on the old releases the nxmc-2.1-M3-win32-x86 that matches with my 2017's NetXMS-VM version, so I can resume again my netxms path.

Regards.

You can find how to reset admin password here: https://www.netxms.org/documentation/adminguide/advanced.html#troubleshooting

QuoteNew in version 2.1-M0.

Use following command to reset password and unlock account:

nxdbmgr reset-system-account

Hello, thanks for you help, however even after unlocking DB with nxdbmgr check (all ok) and then nxdbmgr reset-system-account (ok), when I tried to login on as admin with default password , web gui returns "connection error - access denied".

I also restarted netxmsd and tomcat7 services, but I got the same error.

General Support / NETXMS Password Recovery
June 24, 2020, 06:21:45 AM
Hello NETXMS Team

1) I returned here since 2017 as I need netxms again for a new project. I restored my NETXMS-VM to check DCIs and other config, but I cannot login with admin user with management console or web gui trying multiple known passwords.

2) I want to know if there's a way for password recovery as I need to check my 2017's config so I avoid to start all over again with learn DCI's config and other things:

netxmsd -v
NetXMS Server Version 2.1-M3 Build 9008 (2.1-M3-1-gbc6f56c) (UNICODE)
NXCP: 4.48.1.8 (AES-256, Blowfish-256, 3DES, AES-128, Blowfish-128)
Built with: g++ (Debian 4.9.2-10) 4.9.2

Hello, I want to share my solution for tomcat7:

1) Upgrade to Java8 (Alex recomendation): https://tecadmin.net/install-java-8-on-debian/
2) On  /etc/default/tomcat7 add line JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-8-oracle, and restart tomcat7 service
3) I deleted my past 2.1-m3 .war's , deploy the new 2.1-m3 .war, and it work

General Support / Re: Multiple DCI Issues (Again)
February 28, 2017, 02:13:20 AM
Hello, I tried the following steps by myself:

1) Clone NetXMS VM to other more robust erver (up today it doesnt report more transformation script or dci errors)
2) Rediscover DCI instances on nodes where they disappear, also changing a bit their names to trigger the db update (https://www.netxms.org/forum/general-support/deleted-instanced-dcis-appear-again-after-restart/msg20528/#msg20528)

General Support / Multiple DCI Issues (Again)
February 13, 2017, 05:13:02 PM
Hello, I have NetXMS v2.0.8 on Debian 8 (x64), and I still  have multiple issues with DCI values on different nodes:

1) DCI data values lost  from Jan14th to Jan25th suddenly (I cant explain it since I  configured the data retention for 90 days)
2) Appear several execution errors of "transformation script" values for DCIs ( even if the transformation scrip code worked fine in past days)
3) I can snmpwalk and ping them from NetXMS VM (for discard any connectivity issue)
4) I upgraded the ESXi from my machines to 6.0U2, and NetXMS also to 2.0.8, but this behavior persisted also on the past versions

The same behavior appear on two different NetXMS VMs that I have.

Any idea of this behavior??  I just set up debug level9 (To share you in a while  and could find any clues about)

Regards.

Hello, finally I can update NetXMS to v2.0.8. Here are the steps:

1) Check  /etc/apt/sources.list file, include paths for Debian and NetXMS packages.
2) Run apt update
3) Run apt install libzmq3
4) Run apt-get install --only-upgrade netxms-server

Thanks to Alex who helped me (on Telegram group) to discover the broken packages.

Regards.

1) Im running NETXMS 2.0.6 on Debian 8 (64bits):

:~$ nxdbmgr -v
NetXMS Database Manager Version 2.0.6 Build 8073 (UNKNOWN) (UNICODE)

~$ hostnamectl
   Static hostname: NETXMS-DEV
         Icon name: computer-vm
           Chassis: vm
        Machine ID: 0e2abe4338484ea5a790cd88bb82b757
           Boot ID: 3cfe0309bc734c1d82bf6f6f6732d42c

2) Are collected from SNMP agents (DCIs come from template, and have instantiated and transformation configuration)

3) On Template DCI,  the agent cache mode is "default", and "DefaultAgentCacheMode" have value 2 and restart=yes (I have not change any of these parameters).

General Support / Re: Multiple DCIs Missing
November 25, 2016, 02:53:22 PM
Hello, yesterday I had the same issue, even entering nxdbmgr check on both servers.

For this, I rebooted both  servers, and then the DCIs reappeared (but not all at the same time), and up today I see almost all, but with their values missing for several days.

It's very disturbing this behavior.

General Support / Multiple DCIs Missing
November 23, 2016, 12:28:20 AM
Hello, today checking my 2 NetXMS servers , I find that multiple DCIs stop to work, be discovered, appear without recent values, etc, even if the nodes are reachable.

Here are the performance graphs from both servers:

The same behavior appear from time to time , but I did nothing and later the DCIs and data appear again.

Is there a way to solve this issue for good ??

Regards.

Hello Victor, thanks for your answer and analysis.

In this case, ¿¿can you guide me on on how to ingress the code you mentioned for fixing the issue ??

Regards.
#14
Hello, I realize that, for get the complete overview->general node info (including the boot time), is necessary to perform at least 2 configuration (full) polls, otherwise, boot time not appear.
