Hi all

I first of all want to thank you for an awesome product !! Can't imagine my support life without it ! Now, the question:
We mostly use Mikrotik nodes, and I can get the interface rate (the speed at which it connects) using .1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.15 . This however, gives me all the interfaces listed, which is fine. As the nodes have different amount of interfaces, adding this dynamically might be quite a job. I would like to know if I can add an DCC entry for each interface found on the particular node, or alternatively if I can do just a DCI summary table and get a table view of all the interfaces for each of the nodes.
I actually only need those with a value of 100, so I would like to filter on that as well.

Thanks again !

Hi

Another thing - lets say I have 5 DCI's in the template (This is for Mikrotik), but I have a node that cannot process one of those DCI's (no voltage for eg) - if I disable it, the Template adds it again ? Can this be avoided somehow ?
Thank you

Hi Victor

Could you possibly just explain where I add the custom attributes ? To each node that the default threshold has to be overwritten ? And do I add this on the DCC where the default values currently are ? I apologise again for not seeing this clearly...

General Support / Re: DCI Template manual override

Hi - but what about new nodes that needed to get the template values ? The template adds about 5 DCI's, of which one needs to be adapted. I think I will just duplicate on each of the custom nodes, and disable the one from the template.

Hi Victor

I am a bit of a noob with custom attributes etc. So let me explain what I used before. I have a voltage threshold on the template of 22v. But I have a lot of nodes that require a threshold of 25v, some 23.5, etc( a few different values depending on voltage full state). So in the older version, I simply changed it so that those templates are over ridden, and it worked. I am not the only administrator, so I would like to keep it as simple as possible.
So can a template be added that can be over ridden, or should I add multiple DCI's with different thresholds, and maybe disable the ones I dont want / need ? Alternatively, I should remove the template and add them one by one, which seems counter-intuitive.
Let me know on your thoughts,
Thanks

General Support / DCI Template manual override
April 25, 2019, 12:07:54 PM
Hi there
I upgraded to the latest version of NetXMS, and now the Template automatically overrides manual changes that I had before on the nodes.
I have certain nodes that I want the default template added when I am adding the node, but need to adapt to the voltage at the site, which is not always the default value. (This is for threshold alarms)
Is there a way on the new version to handle this ? I have found that I can manually add the DCC value again, but this is a bit of a mission as I have to apply this at quite a few of my nodes.
Thank you for an awesome program !!

General Support / Re: Add snmp Values together
June 28, 2017, 12:14:06 PM
Ok, I have tried the following:

I created to scripts, one for the upload, and one for the download:

sub myTotalDownload()
{
result = GetDCIValueByDescription($nodedesc) + GetDCIValueByDescription($nodedesc);
}

Then I added a DCI, and chose the script as origin, and Data Type Unsigned 64bit.

On transformation, I chose avg delta per second.

I don't get a value - what am I missing ?

Hi Victor

As I am not good at scripting in this language, could you possibly give a link for some examples ? I will opt for option 2, so I will duplicate the same DCI, and then add the other DCI value to this one.

Thank you

General Support / Add snmp Values together
June 27, 2017, 05:49:21 PM
Hi

Forgive me if this question is trivial, but I am not sure how to do it. I have two SNMP values from 2 different nodes. I take the average delta / second, as this is my bandwidth usage. I would like to add two sites together to get my total usage. So, add the two values together, and then get the average delta / sec. Not sure where to start, and what route to take. Many thanks for an awesome program !!

General Support / Status Map Polling time / setup
February 06, 2017, 02:29:40 PM
Hi there

I have two questions regarding the Status Map:

1. Is there anyway to determine the snmp polling time, and reflect a certain colour on the status map for that ? So, if a poll takes longer than 100ms, have an alarm related to that ? Not sure if this is based on the status map setup or on the alarms.

2. Is there any way to have the Status Map blocks resize as you scale the window when detached ?

Once again, thank you for an awesome program! My support life has been supercharged !!

Hi there

I am a bit of a newbie on NetXMS - do I have to apply the script somehow to a template, or does it automatically consider the script for all nodes ?

Thank you

General Support / Extended Legend Properties
December 30, 2016, 10:51:35 AM
Good day

First off, thank you for an amazing product ! I would like to know if it is possible to edit the extended legend properties ? I would like to for instance only see the current value, and not necessarily  min, max, and avg. Also, is it possible to show it on the side, but then have the value located underneath each other ?

Thank you again for the product, our support lives have been changed by NetXMS.
