General Support / Double Link in Maps

Hi

Any idea as to why the map links have double connections between nodes? this is when I add seed nodes in the L2 topology map

screenshot attached

Hi!

Yes your right, there is no sound and no vibration

However, the status of the node as critical is displayed

Im trying to setup XMPP messaging for NetXMS

192.168.1.X (NetXMS 2.2.17) -- Production Server – Debug set to 6
XMPP Works fine, XMPP message is triggered when a node changes state to down or Up but many times the message is delayed or is missed
Tail -f /var/log/netxmsd |grep xmpp shows messages being triggered when a node change state

192.168.1.Y (NetXMS 2.2.17)  – Test Server – Debug set to 6
Tail -f /var/log/netxmsd |grep xmpp shows NO messages being triggered when a node change state
However I am able to get responses from the server show commands via xmpp client

192.168.5.Z (NetXMS 3.0) – Test server -- Debug set to 6
Tail -f /var/log/netxmsd |grep xmpp shows NO messages being triggered when a node change state.
However I am able to get responses from the server show commands via xmpp client

Looks like the test setups work like 1-way communication.

I have double-checked the configuration between the working and  the non-working systems they are exactly identical

Ejabberd XMPP Server –
Tcpdump shows messages being triggered from 192.168.1.X – production server  but no XMPP responses from the test systems when the same done is down,
The users configured in ejabberd show as online

Need help in getting this working as this was the alternative to the Netxms android not playing alert sounds

Edit:  I have noticed that when I configure server action (Email) +(XMPP)

The mail is generated instantly when our node goes down, but the XMPP message is not trigerred even though the event processing policy is instructed to use XMPP also as server action along with email action.

General Support / Server Restart Issues
November 01, 2019, 06:59:53 AM
Hi

I'm using NetXMS 2.2.17 on CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core)

When I restart the NetXMS service, the service shows as running, however, I cannot connect to the console,

What I see is that the process still runs in the background even I issue a systemctl stop netxmsd command

and even though the systemctl status netxmsd show the process as dead

What I then need to do is that kill the process and the start the NetXMS service in order to get things working,

is there a solution to this issue?

The same happens when I do a service stop, wait a few seconds and the issue a service start command, the service shows as running but I still cannot connect to the console

Edit: I have observed the same behavior with V3.0.2329

Hi Filipp,

Just to let you know, the critical sound alert plays on an old Moto3 Power handset,

However, it does not play on the following phones that I tested

Samsung J7 (2016)
Redme Note5 Pro,
Moto G5 S plus,
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro

I think i will move on to XMPP options to get notification alarms on my phone
meanwhile, if u find something please do let me know.

Thanks

Hi Filipp

thanks for your responses and good to know it works for you, make me think I do have hope for this to get working

at first, I thought it may be my handset, but then I tried with 3 different handsets, but no luck

am attaching screenshots, please let me know what I may be doing wrong.

Hi,

I am able to log in as admin but unable to access anything, this happened due to some change in access permission, how do I reset so I can get access to all of Netxms as admin?

all I can see is Templates, Dashboard, Network Maps and Business service in the object browser

General Support / Disable switch port on event
September 27, 2019, 12:21:55 PM
Hi

We have redundant circuits for some of our destinations, sometimes we experience latency on a given path, is it possible to disable a port on a device via netxms if the associated circuit experiences latency so the more reliable redundant link takes over
