Announcements / Re: NetXMS 2.0-RC1 released

Hi,

Thanks for the new release looks good.

I have encountered one issue. While upgrading from 2.0M5 all the mibs from var/mibs dis-appeared. This is on win2k8r2.

Restored mibs from a backup and re-built. But now when I run the 32bit console on win7 I get the following error after logging in:
"Cannot load MIB file from server: File I/O operation failed"

There was no issues before the upgrade.

Also, do not know if this is related to the upgrade, before upgrading I stopped the Core, Agent & WebGUI services, but there was still a lock on the MySQL DB which prevented DB upgrade.

Hi,

Am still seeing invalid netmask warnings on x86 systems and a few devices.

Netmask is also showing incorrectly in the console.

Cheers, Brett.

Looks like the sqlite.ddr is also missing from the 32bit package as well.

Also after the upgrade of the server some DCIs did not function. A restart of the server service after the upgrade seemed to bring them all back. Sounds like it may have been a DB upgrade issue?

Hi,

Looks like there is a missing database driver sqlite.ddr in the 64bit agent. Checking the bin folder does not show any file there by that name.

Tried to update the agent by deploying it to a Windows 8.1 x64 machine.
Update kept failing, apparently some DLL was still in use by the session-agent.. that one was still running while the nxagent service was stopped.

That's quite strange - installer runs taskkill before start copying files. Can you  please run manually command

taskkill.exe /IM nxsagent.exe /F /T

and check that session agent was terminated?

Best regards,
Victor

Hi, just checking that their is no typo in the command line? I have this problem on one or two systems and there is no task called nxsagent.exe but there is nxagentd.exe

Hi,

Another problem still present. I have two APC UPS units, polled with SNMP via agent proxy, that are still reporting a netmask of /0 on the interface.

I have another APC UPS polled with SNMP that is not using the agent proxy and it is reporting the correct netmask. It is not the same model as the ones that are not reporting the correct netmask, but all models reported the correct netmask in M2.

Also, another strange thing, if I do a full configuration poll on a node using SNMP, both using the agent proxy and not, the management console will loose communication with the server and shutdown.

Thanks, Brett.

Hi,

Thanks for the new release, the ping bug has gone and all is good.

One problem so far, the ICMP proxy does not seem to be working. It was not working in M3, but I thought that was due to the IP being reversed, maybe not. It did seem to be working in M2.

Thanks, Brett.

I have found a couple of problems with ping after the upgrade from 2.0-M2 to 2.0-M3.

One is the ping agent not working, but have got around that by reversing the IP addresses in the conf file.

The second is the ICMP proxy is not working. I would assume it is related to the same issue as the ping agent?

yes, both are related to same problem (also discussed in another post). You can apply patch posted earlier if you are building from sources, or I can provide compiled ping subagent for Windows. Also, we likely to publish patch release soon which will fix issues found so far.

Best regards,
Victor

Thanks, I can live with the work around until patch release.

Hi,

Another odd thing I have noticed.

I have some win2k3 servers and they are reporting the wrong netmask for interfaces. They have a /23 netmask but NetXMS is reporting /24 and I am getting warnings about the incorrect netmask. Polled with agent.

Also I have two APC UPS units polled via SNMP proxy that are reporting /0 netmask when they have a /24 netmask. Again am getting netmask warnings logged. All other SNMP devices polled via the proxy are reporting correct netmask.

Have done a check on the DB and there are no issues detected.

Netmask was correct in 2.0-M2, and I have tried doing a full configuration poll since upgrade.

Thanks, Brett.

General Support / Topology issue with 1.2.17
October 28, 2014, 02:35:20 AM
Hi,

Since upgrading to 1.2.17 if I now look in the interfaces tab of a switch I do not see any non STP/LLDP peers listed.

Looking in "Topology > Switch forwarding database (MAC address table)" I can see all the peers listed along with the port etc.

Is this a bug, or a change made in 1.2.17?

Hi All,

I see that NetXMS can monitor the windows logs, i.e. Application, Security, Setup and System.

Can it monitor the Applications and Services Logs in windows server 2008 r2? I wish to monitor the DFS Replication log. If so how do you go about it?

Many Thanks, Brett.
