I would really be nice if when doing a right click layer2 topology map we could easily identify the nodes of interest.  Maybe allow a node option similar to manage and unmanage where you can flag or unflag a node on any map. It could possibly add a  background color or maybe simply blink the current status color.  I know I can reduce the number of objects shown in the topology but  90% of the time it is not enough to get a good picture of the topology when trouble shooting a ring of switches and i have to increase the radius. I have also noticed even though the radius is set to 5  depending on the switch I select It will still return 30 or more devices.

Question about action configuration.  Im running netxms on a debian server and i was playing around with (Execute command on managment server)  I noticed that all commands run using this option are run as root.  I tested with a simple "touch /opt/testfile.txt"   How does netxms run these commands under root if there is no credentials given for the root user

I think it would be helpful to have a script generator that would allow a visual gui in building custom scripts that could be used with netxms or maybe provide a repository for people to post there custom scripts that maybe helpful for others.

Currently we have 3.3.323  and I am getting the following error when trying to upgrade

Upgrading database...
Upgrading from version 35.1 to 35.2

I normally build from source and install.  Do I need to install a previous version in order to upgrade to 3.6 or should this process still work jumping that many versions

Looking for a function the will enable the check box   "Use ICMP ping on primary IP address to determine node status"  I searched in the docs an could not find anything.

Has any one done any comparison of the two ?   When would one be recommend over the other.  I have noticed at times with Timescale I often get disconnects from nxmc  when im doing a lot at once.  I have never had these issues with mysql or postgres.

Would be nice to be able to edit multiple objects in gui.  I know this can be done via scripting but it would be so nice to be able to multi select multiple nodes right click and change any of those attributes such as polling, map appearance, proxy .. etc    Or be able to add nodes to a container and make global changes to each node in the container.

At work we switched to a different set of l2 switches and I do not get any topology info at all. But if I right click ->  info -> lldp I can see the neighbors. I can alos mib browse and see both local and remote lldp tables populated.  I though this all netxms needed to build the topo. The brand of switch is Moxa EDR 810 if that helps

I noticed the in 3.2.350 that there is a tsdb.sql init file  but when building from source tsdb is not an optional driver to install.  What is the standard install for timescaledb.   I am assuming i would follow the timescale.com docs to install postgres and the timescaledb plugin but for netxms would I then only need to init the tsdb.sql file or does both pgsql and tsdb neet to be initialized.

Where there any changes to the nxshell ?  Im using 2.2.16  and all my old scripts no longer work. I even tried most of the examples in the wiki and they no longer work either.  This is the error i receive

If I want to migrate from Mysql to Timescale is there any way to import the data from mysql ?  By the way awesome choice   I always thought timeseries databases where better suited for NMS's

I have version 2.2.6 which I noticed does not properly discovery lldp on NETONIX switches.  I have looked at the release notes of the newer versions and no of these address this. Im wondering if this is a bug.  I can pull the lldp database using snmp client and see all listed neighbors but node does not show lldp enabled

Mqtt subagent does not seem to properly pass the user name and login values to the broker following the documentation below is what i have


Hostname = mybroker.ip
Port =  5222
Login = myuser
Password = mypass

on the broker i see several unsuccessful attempts while using the same credentials with mosquitto_sub client  everthing works fine

After adding a few nodes with links between everything seems fine until i try to add interface DCI's to display link bandwidth.  As soon as I do that some of the links go blue even though the link is up and correctly displaying bandwidth. This happens randomly on several other nodes but if I remove the DCI's from Datasources it goes back to green .   I have double checked interface status and node status and everything is up/up   any ideas ?

It would really be helpful if you cold implement some sort of feature that will will flash or highlight the Icon of the node you are running the Topology on.  Other wise the topolgy map is pretty useless if you have a large network and the map returns hundreds of devices

Would it be possible for you add a feature that allows you to export any results returned from Find Object  Search to CSV.

I have an AWS instance I want to add in netxms.  I installed the agent and changed the agent port to a non standard port ex  3355  however i can not communicate to it from the server. I changed agent port settings to match on netxms but it does not seem to want to connect.

Are you guys going to release any documentation on setting this up ?  We have a use case where we have some modbus devices and using modbus2mqtt  we would like to log that data in netxms

Just curious.. I see experimental mqtt support was added and looking at the source it is only listed under subagents.  Is both the broker and client running on the agent ?   Just trying to figure out the topology of this. Does the agent publish predefined metrics to the server ?
