General Support / Upgrade procedure

Hi,

What is the correct procedure to upgrade 1.0.13 (embedded SQL Lite) to 1.1.10 on Windows 2008 R2 ?

I have tried and end up with all sorts of SQL errors.

David

Hi Victor,

If I read the status of node "ISP_gateway" from an event processing rule triggered by a "NODE_DOWN" event does all the other nodes have to be in the trusted node list of node "ISP_gateway" ?

Hi Victor,

I monitor the status of connection A by pinging the ISP gateway the router uses, I have a node 'ISP gateway' configured.

General Support / Inter-dependent status

Dear all,

I'm not sure how to create alarms that are conditional on multiple object status' and would be grateful if someone can point me on the right path.

The NetXMS server is sat on a server on one network connected to the Internet by connection A, most of the managed node are on separate remote networks that are themselves connected to the Internet by connections B, C, D etc..

Currently I have alarms generated on NODE_DOWN that email me an alert, however I do not want this email alert if the server connection (A) is down, i.e. the alarm (or alert) should only be asserted if the remote node goes down but connection A is up, or put another way if connection A is down do not generat any alarms for remote nodes.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Victor,

It was an upgrade and I upgraded the server first then I uninstalled the agent and ran the downloadable agent installer, I will know to just run the server installer next time !

Many thanks for your prompt help on this.

Many thanks Victor,

When I tried your suggestion I got the same 'communication error' so I re-installed the agent which made no difference, so then I uninstalled the agent, stopped the core and web servers, ran the server install again over the top of the existing installation, installed the agent again and hey presto it is working again.

By god, you are clever !

All the best,
David

Hi,

I have many nodes which in practice are router / firewall / NAT devices, Draytek 2600, 2800 and 2820 models.
I monitor them with SNMP and a service monitor to check the management interface is alive, the service monitor being configured like this:

service type: user-defined
IP Protocol: TCP
TCP/UDP port: 50089
Request:
Response

Up to and including 1.0.10 this worked but with 1.0.11 it no longer does, the SNMP stuff still works fine but a status poll of the node returns "Unable to check service status due to agent or communication error" when checking the servce. Can anyone enlighten me as to what I am doing wrong ?

Thanks,

General Support / Re: Graphs on perfomance tab gone

Hi Victor,

Many thanks for the info. The problem was corrupted performance counter data on the monitored server, I've managed to partially fix the counters, which has got the basic graphs back in NetXMs.

Happy Christmas,

Monitored node: Windows 2003 running netxms agent 1.0.8
Monitoring console and server vesion 1.0.8

In the NextXMS management console, on the performance tab for the above node, there is only one graph displayed (physical memory) whereas the default view includes CPU Utilization, CPU Load Average and Disk Queue. I have tried deleting the node and setting up again but still only get one graph. What controls the display of these graphs and any ideas how I can get the missing graphs ?

General Support / Console stops responding
October 13, 2010, 01:17:35 PM
Hi,

Host OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Pro
NetXMS Console: Version 1.0.5

I've had this on the previous versions, the NetXMS Console frequently stops responding when acknowledging or teminating alarms in the object browse.

Hi,

Any news on 'zone' functionality, allowing replicated private addresses accessible via proxies ?

In the node 'move to another container' operation the view is a flat list of all the containers, it would be useful if instead of a list the view showed the same hierarchical structer that can be seen in the object browser.
