Title: Agent updating server record
Post by: possamai on February 17, 2014, 06:12:16 PM
How about letting the agent update the server record (when identified by a shared key of course).
That way the name and ip don't have to be so static and dynamic internet hosts would be possible..
If it would just connect to the server with a message like "Hey I'm Machine03 (check my key) and the ip that I'm coming from is my new home for now".
It could even send data and pick up a a set of commands from the server so one way communication behind NAT would become possible..

Probably a bit too much to add all at once but would it be possible?

Yes, should not be hard to implement. Added this as feature request: https://www.radensolutions.com/chiliproject/issues/525 (https://www.radensolutions.com/chiliproject/issues/525)

Best regards,
