Group,

I'm not totally sure if this functionality is already in NetXMS, I haven't fully explored it yet.

Some place to have a set of notes would be very helpful.  Right now I'm using the "Script Library" and just ignoring the syntax failure messages.  But if another option almost exactly like the Script Library with no syntax checking would be basically perfect.

I just need a place to put small notes for other techs in the building.

Thanks!
Knight.

Not knowing what kind of notes you are leaving, most objects allow you to set "Comments", e.g. containers, nodes, interfaces.
So it would be possible to leave notes on specific objects that those notes may relate to.

Of course you could create a container called Notes, setup "fake nodes" that don't monitor anything and just enter comments in there.
Not quite the same as a "Notes Library" and may be completely unsuitable to your needs.

Notes on comments of nodes works great for comments pertaining to a node, but not so good for general notes.

The concept of a fake set of nodes isn't a bad idea, but a general notes would be ideal.  As I said in my original post right now I'm just using the Script Library to hold the general notes, which works well, but would be nice if it was separated out.

Thanks!

Or you could use the comments on "Infrastructure Services" or "Entire Network"
