Title: Agent behind a Firewall
Post by: krknopp on October 17, 2007, 11:09:47 PM
We support clients at sights that we don't necessarily have access to from where our monitoring server would be.  Does the NetXMS agent require an open port in the firewall, or can it be configured to send information to the server?  In other words, does the server need to be able to get to the agent, or can the agent let the server know its status?

Hello!

Server need to be able to connect to agent. You only need to open one port - 4700. Also, if you have many agents behind firewall, you can open access to only one of them, and use it as a proxy for accessing other agents.

Best regards,
