what is the difference between terminating an alarm and acknowledging it ?

Acknowledged alarm will remain in list of active alarms, but in "acknowledged" state. Terminated alarm will be removed from active alarm list. Main idea behind this is to provide mechanism for operators to inform each other that problem do exist, but somebody already aware of it and working on it.

thanks for clarifying.
when i do the acknowledge i do not see any reference to who did the acknowledge and in case of number of users there should be that info so that "somebody" will have a name,what do you think ?
is it a feature request ?
