Title: Dashboard Blanks Itself After 2 Days
Post by: dneil on March 09, 2026, 08:11:52 PM
We have a dashboard built that we display on a TV for all IT staff to look at.  We leave this system on 24/7 and the TV is on when we are in the office.  On version 5.x of NetXMS with the legacy client, we had no issues and the dashboard was always displayed and updated properly.

However, with version 6 of NetXMS and the new client, the dashboard will go to a blank white screen after approximately 2 days. The only way to fix this is closing the client altogether and then restarting the client application.

Has anyone come across this before?  Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Can you check memory consumption during these days? Feels like a memory / resource leak.

Thanks Alex, I just restarted it today, so I will follow up in a couple of days when it blanks again.

Hi Alex, it did it again today.  Attached are screenshots of the blank dashboard and Task Manager, we have not run out of RAM and the client is not using excessive amounts of RAM.  (Splashtop is what I use to connect to the machine so that 300MB of RAM goes away when I'm not connected)

Which exactly dashboard elements are used on that dashboard?

In Windows task manager in "Details" screen right-click on any header in the table, click "Select columns" and add "User objects" and "GDI objects". Check these values after a day, if they grow or stay stable.

Hi Filipp,

We wiped Windows on that machine and installed Linux Mint, running Mint we've had no issues with the Dashboard blanking itself.  As such, I won't be able to get any values from Task Manager for you.

The Dashboard elements are a Geo Map, a Map, the alarm list and a bunch of traffic graphs.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, developers fixed a few resource leaks in maps, to that could have been it.
