Title: How to completely delete a Host ?
Post by: thafener on August 27, 2015, 09:41:34 PM
HI @ll

My question is how to delete a Node completely from the NetXMS installation ?

The Background : I have two new Avaya ERS 3500 Series Switches and I tried to query/poll Switch 1
with my NetXMS Server but at first the result was poor because the correct MIB's were missing.
I could see just one unknown interface.

Avaya Support has supplied the MIBS and with the help of the guide in the Wiki I could compile them
successfully.

Then I added Switch 2 (SNMP config identical) and I could see all ports, all the topology info and
so on which is really perfect for me.

But : Polling Switch 1 still fails, I see a unknown Interface only and I get polling errors.
Tried to delete Switch 1 from the configuration and restarted the server services and added it
again as a Node which was not successful. Still have polling errors.

Here's a guess : On re-adding as a Node NetXMS has referred to old info about Switch one so
is there a proper to delete the information about this device from the NetXMS Database ?

I am running NetXMS on a Win 20012 R2 Server on PostGRE SQL

Thank you in advance

The problem is not in NetXMS, if you only see one interface, it means SNMP communication to the switch is not successful.

You dont need to remove/add the switch, fix snmp communication to the switch, and run a Full Configuration poll on it.
