Title: ICMP/Polling problems
Post by: whitemotel on September 15, 2010, 04:23:46 PM
Hello guys (Victor)...

I have my netxms installed on a xp workstation.  I had to move the workstation to another location.  When i turned it back up, all the devices didnt come 'green" even though i was able to ping it from the workstation itself.  The devices are set to poll via ICMP no SNMP.  To get it back green, i had to delete the device and add it back in.  Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

Didn't you miss some alarms? It can happen in this situation that node down alarm didn't get terminated automatically, and you have to terminate it manually. If this is not the case, than it's definitely a strange bug.

Best regards,
Victor

thanks for responding,

There were no alarms prior to moving the workstation.  I tried to poll the down device (even though the device was up) but the poll still came back unreachable.  Very weird.

*** i see a new version is out!...will update and see if i still see the same issue
