Title: NetXMS agent accross networks
Post by: jdowney on February 04, 2010, 02:11:45 PM
A quick questions for you does the agent have to be on the same lan / VLAN to be able to communicate with the netxms server. The reason I ask is I have nodes that are are different Lans/ VLANS but I'm unable to get the server to poll the agent. The server has full access to all the VLAN's on our network.

Any ideas?

Cheers

John

No, the only requirement is that agent should be reachable by IP. Try to run remote agent in debug mode (nxagentd -D) to see if connections comes to agent. Don't forget that if NetXMS server is multihomed or there are NAT between server and agent, you may need to specify different IP address under MasterServers in agent's configuration file.
