Title: Newbie: help needed on configuration debug view and MIBS
Post by: enjawd on May 07, 2018, 11:17:45 AM
Hi Guys,

I've recently set up netxms version 2.2.4 on my windows server 2012, I'm new to this software. And i require some help to set up the monitoring software.

1. How do i go about looking at debuging mode. I have google and read up that i need to change the debug level 9 at the server console but how do i actually view the log files?

2. Im also trying to configure to get more data out from my SNMP on the Eaton UPS(ie. battery level, battery status....). Currently ill only get notification if the communication link is broken. And it seems like i cant get any details from the MIBs except for APC UPS brand.

Please help.

Thanks alot!

Cheers,
Joey

Hi,

log file location is set in server configuration file, usually C:\NetXMS\etc\netxmsd.conf on Windows. Debug level 9 is very verbose, in most cases you won't need to set it higher than 6.

For UPS you should check if there are any MIBs around for your UPS (usually vendors made them available along with the drivers and other software). If you can find MIBs then you can add them to standard MIB collection on your server and use for configuring DCIs.

Best regards,
Victor
