Title: Nodes topology
Post by: ef on May 31, 2008, 11:18:47 AM
Hi, I would like to know if it's yet implemented the ability to see nodes topology on the network (i.e, if switches, workstations and servers are discovered, I would like to see on which switch port each workstation and server is connected).
The network map shows only a series of icons not connected between them, while the object browser shows only switches connections in each switch topology tab.
Each switch interface shows only the overview tab, with no references to the connected node.
SNMP is enabled only on switches, I don't know if this feature depends from SNMP (or netxms agent) still not deployed on machines.
Thank you very much.

Edoardo

May be you will try this

In this module you can manually attach to node's port interface, and to draw your network (nodes/links) with mouse (drag&drop)

I mean an automatic physical topology of the network (at least, retrieving on each switch interface both MAC and IP address of the connected node, possibly with DNS name if reverse lookup is available).

Currently there are no automatic layer 2 topology, but I have this in plans.
