Title: Possibility to use LogWatch with other Windows Event Logs?
Post by: nikos on May 22, 2009, 09:59:43 AM
Has anybody used the LogWatch function succesfully with other Windows Event Logs than Applicaton/System/Security?
There are many applications with add their own application specific eventlog to the windows event log facility.
However, I tried to monitor these in the same way as it is working for the *System, *Application etc, but unfortunately with no success.
Any help/comments on this are very appreciated!

Hello!

In theory, it should work. What you get - errors in agent's log, or just no events when records appear in log? What Windows version you are using? I have a lot of problem reports for Windows Server 2003, and there are known problems with Vista and Server 2008.

Best regards,
Victor

Hi Victor

Thanks for your quick response!
It is regarding Windows 2003 Server Systems. We just get no events.
I have tried it with various logs which are added to the system by 3rd party applications, unfortunately with no success.
Let me know if you would need more info's.

Kind Regards

Nikos
