Wow quick response! Thank you once again!

I had to change the IP adress of my netXMS server to make it more secure, it's in another network now but it can still reach everything I want to monitor.

Now I have 2 problems,

1) Since I stopped the MySQL service + core service after having reinstalled NetXMS to restore my previous database the Core Service wont start (it starts, and immeidately stops).

2)The log file gives me the following error

[09-Apr-2008 13:07:47] Log file opened
[09-Apr-2008 13:07:47] Database driver "mysql.ddr" loaded and initialized successfully
[09-Apr-2008 13:07:47] Database is already locked by another NetXMS server instance (IP address: 192.168.70.9, machine info: TESTSERVER Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 Build 3790)

Is there any way to change the IP adress linked to the database?  :-[

Thank you, that would make netXMS even better  ;)

General Support / NetXMS time outs
April 08, 2008, 01:05:16 PM
I added a node via internet (router with many interfaces).

One of the interfaces had the same IP range as my own lan (which I am also monitoring in netxms)
so naturally, this router interface was placed inside my own LAN "group"

Now I have deleted the router from the "entire networK" section, but when I delete the router
from my own LAN "group" it hangs on the "deleting object" screen and eventually it gives the error
"Unable to delete object: Request timed out"

Everything I try to do after this error occurs just hangs. For example when I try to open up the "alarms" screen
it times out, I have to shut down the console, log in again, and then I can work again.

What could be causing this? :-\

General Support / Multiple interfaces, same subnets
April 08, 2008, 10:58:37 AM
In my LAN there are a lot of devices with the IP 192.168.70.*

Now when I add another node through internet or VPN, that node also uses 192.168.70.* range on their internal network interface. Now when I add this node, turn off automatic configuration polling, and delete all the interfaces but the one I want to monitor, netXMS has already placed the interface with 192.168.100.* in my internal network "group".

Is there any way to stop this from happening? This is a pretty big problem unfortunately.  :-[

General Support / Status check doesnt always work
April 07, 2008, 02:09:09 PM
Example 1:

On one of the servers I'm monitoring (internal netwerk, just like example 2) the status check gives back a "4" when it goes offline. When I put it back online, netXMS doesn't notice this change, I can manually poll it, edit the config through netXMS .

What can be causing this? There is no firewall and no significant change since last time it worked  ???

/EDIT
On a workstation I've just added, this is working fine ??? I am getting confused.

/EDIT2
I had a rule up in the event policy editor that said the following:

Source: [Computername] Event: SYS_IF_DOWN ALARM: [Hardcoded text] ACTION: [Send email]
Source: [Computername] Event: SYS_IF_up ALARM: [Hardcoded text] ACTION: [Send email]

When I deleted this rule, deleted the node and added the node again, everything worked perfectly, what am I doing wrong?

Example 2:

One of the printers with SNMP support i've added, when it goes offline it does not notice that the machine went offline, nor does it notice when it goes back online.  All the other DCI's via SNMP seem to be going properly and  they don't give any errors.

/EDIT
This node also has the "netXMS NAT adapter" listed as a network connection for some reason, can't find it in the documentation. Could this be the reason??

I'm using the 0.2.20 console, server and agent.

Sorry should have been clearer, what I meant to say was: How do I configure all DCI's to have a higher retention time, or can this only be done manually?

General Support / Re: SNMP service not recognized?

Thank you for the help, don't ask me why but it's working now after I've started from scratch, must have made a typo somewhere.

General Support / Set a new standard retention time?
April 04, 2008, 03:51:44 PM
Is it possible to set a different retention time? I couldn't find it in the options and it would save me a lot of time!  :)

Thanks in advance

Feature Requests / Re: Copy O.I.D. from SNMP walk

Thanks so much! I'm loving this project more every day

A search feature could also be useful, just giving you some input  :)
#119
This feature would be very usefull as I only want to monitor one interface at a time.
For example holding the shift button to select multiple interfaces and delete them would be great.

Just an idea I had, see what you do with it  ;)

NetXMS just got a whole lot better!  ;D   Thank you for the quick response!
