Hi Pilipp,

When you have a moment would you please add the #2 part example?

Could not find much about the mapping tables / persistent storage or how to use them in the docs

Hi Pilipp,

Thank you for the detailed explanation my initial thoughts was doing it without knowing the exact way with your #2 way saving data in some table and working from there.
But I have less experienced colleagues and for them and ease of implementation / maintenance #1 is the more elegant one. We will try it first and if that does not work for us I will revert back for #2.

General Support / Metrics from logwatch events
April 12, 2022, 09:46:33 PM
Hi
I am hoping someone could point me into a direction. Still new and I would like to get some insights on the best angle to do what I want..  graphs/dials on the performance tab but from events in log files with logwatch. eg ssh login failures for the last day. Or from cfengine logs how many promises kept, how may repaired and how many failed.

What would be the best?
Use the agent with some external commands / custom parsing scripts for the ssh login failures or whatever log.
Or is there a way I can get the metric/dci values from events that came from event processing? with the parameter values captured.

It feels like there should be a way to get the events from logs as values to use like with dci's and last values for a time line.

Thank You
Dawid

Hi
As far as I know yes remember a node can be inside many containers.
Example: I have a windows server, it is in the Virtual Server container, but also in a container for a Site/Town. There is another Windows Server only container if I delete it in one place it should  be gone in the rest.
I don't think my answer is the best and I see you are doing a conversion/upgrade from you other post. If you need  to maintain nodes in bulk you should look at the scripting Jump straight to the examples and see if anything there might be helpful

Hi would some one you be so kind as to show how do I pass the argument to the script
I have it in the scripts but I set the ARG to "ProductVersionWantName" since I dont know or could not find how to pass the argument when setting the DCI

General Support / Re: How to list not binded nodes
February 07, 2022, 10:24:16 AM

Hi don't know if it is the right way but I always just go to agent tunnels and then order them by state brings any unbound ones to the top and you can deal with them.
Where I am internet links go up and down resulting in TLS errors and stuff on my netxms alarms but it generally sort themselves It is something I keep an eye on though.

General Support / Re: How To: NetXMS Reports in 2021
November 27, 2021, 06:34:38 PM
Hi Everyone,
I got the server running but I am afraid my Jasper reports and java powers are limited.
The Alarm resolution works perfectly I found that somewhere in the forum. Sample is just that ..
Does anyone have some reports in .jar file format they are willing to share? Possibly a sticky topic with contributed reports?
Would be great if the server shipped with a few reports on installation!

Thank you  in Advance

Hi alex_rhys-hurn
Really elegant solution certainly easier to implement than mine.
From the little that I know seems like this might even give the developers a simple working opensource solution to ship with..

Thank you for sharing!

Hi
There are other topics regarding this. It is a mobile client problem does not show the dashboards/graphs, the app is old. I don't know if it is being rewritten but as far as I know it is a common problem you did not do anything wrong

Hi
This link helped me in traffic monitoring

https://lasiszm.wordpress.com/2017/10/22/netxms-template-for-monitoring-mikrotik-interfaces/

There is also an example fro traffic that is a shortcut in the Documentation but this link made it click for me
Bit of a learning curve at the start but once you get it.. personally would not bother with the rest ..its like vi  you like or you don't..

Best of luck
