General Support / Help converting a net-snmp file
June 24, 2015, 12:01:40 PM
Hi, for a bit of software I use (Brekeke SIP server), they have given the configuration for net-snmp, but I've no idea how to get this to work with NetXMS. Could anyone help? I presume it's a poll instead of a trap, as what it pull is status reports.

Quote
Acquire the SIP server information

Add the following lines in the file "snmpd.conf".
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
    view systemview included .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.1.3.1
extend .1.3.6.1.4.1.8072.1.3.1 info /usr/java/jdk/bin/java -cp /tomcat/webapps/sip/WEB-INF/lib/ondosip.jar svctl localhost info 5
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Note: In this example, java program path is /usr/java/jdk/bin/java and Brekeke SIP Server's installation directory is /tomcat/webapps/sip)

The above method will return the following internal information:

  --------------------------------------------------------------------------
  startup-time
  life-length
  sip-packet-total
  stacked-packet
  session-active-invite
  session-peak
  registered-record
  thread-active-cnt
  java-use-memory
  java-free-memory
  java-total-memory
  java-max-memory
  --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, it was up for a week, and all was fine. Then added the webserver and it falls over again, this time with historic issues. I've had problems with the webclient in the past, so not (at this stage) convinced that it is the same issue. I've stopped the server again and seems stable.
Like I said, i think it's my setup that has the issue and I'll work on that another day.

Hi it wasn't a big issue, just have some empty space, so was looking at putting a logo on there. Not to worry :-)

General Support / Status Map Background

Ok am I missing the blindingly obvious?
Can you add a background to a status map (not a normal map)?

Just to let you know, I did the upgrade on Friday and it stayed up all weekend. This compared with it failing after a few hours, so certainly looking better.

I've just upgraded to .13 so I'll know by Monday morning  :)

Just to let you know I'm getting this as well, I'll try the latest version as soon as I can and let you know how I get on.

Client:
Windows 7 32bit
Windows 8 64bt

Server
Windows Server 2003 32bit

FYI originally we had it on MySQL, but exported the DB and wiped machine and reloaded it with SQLite and reimported DB

General Support / Multiple Polling and alerts
March 28, 2014, 04:27:59 PM
Hi I'm having problem with Status polling.
I have multiple services, some critical, so normal and some other bits of kit that needs to be monitored.
In summary I have:
Created 6 New Events & 3 Processing rules as well as 3 templates
The event processing has different event processing
Critical Site I have left as the default with email to Group A and Group B
Non Critical, just Group A
Other Devices Group A and Group C
I created 3 templates.
I removed the standard Status poller from all the monitored systems and applied the new templates to the relevant systems.
They are showing as correct when I check a nodes data collection with the correct event processing.
*****
Now the issue
The systems are still using the default alert i.e. what should email Group A and Group C is still defaulting to Group A and Group B.
So a couple of questions, is it possible to have different status polling for nodes with different processing/ ig so how do I go about it?

Thanks guys.

General Support / Auto login to Web interface
March 04, 2014, 02:30:45 PM
Hi guys, hopefully a simple one.
Can the web interface be configured to autologin?
I've tried various methods of posting in the url, such as
http://username:password@mysever:8080/nxmc
and
http://myserver:8080/nxmc?username=name&password=password
but neither seem to work.
Is it possible to do this?

General Support / H_PdhCounterValue in event logs.
October 03, 2013, 06:49:08 PM
Ok I admt this is my fault!
I've been tidying up and adding loads of new counters (mainly WMI) and removing lots of old ones (NetXMS) and now my event logs are getting hit with the below error.

H_PdhCounterValue: PDH Error 800007D5 in call to PdhCollectQueryData (No data to return.)

I'm trying to work out what's causing it so I could do with a little guidance of where to look. Do I still need to set items in the Agent config for Perfmon, even if I'm now using WMI?

Thanks again guys.

General Support / Re: netxms hangs every 7-8 days
September 16, 2013, 11:00:21 AM
Hi just found this thread, I'm also having issues with this version stopping about once a week. I'm running MySQL as backend, but I'll wait to see if the next version fixes it and give you feedback then.
Keep up the good work, you're doing a great job!

Announcements / Re: NetXMS 1.2.8 released
July 22, 2013, 05:50:27 PM
Think things are not quite right with the Win32 versions.
See above for the server, also having issues deploying the package to agents (origianlly got erro saying installed version did not match upgraded version),then tried using Chrome/Iron to download. It donwloaded ok, but then got fail transfer issues, however manual install  worked ok.
Tried to download mamagement console, get empty zip file (Windows buillt in client and 7-ZIp)
64 bit versions seem to be ok.
Agian, may be just me :(

Hi had a interesting one downloading the Win32 version of the server (may help others). Not sure if unique to me.
Download size in both i.e.8 and SwIron (Chrome) reported as 85.7mb
However i.e. seems to finish download at 24.6mb and will give file corrupt error. Iron downloads full package and runs.
This may help others out, if not unique to me.
