Announcements / Re: NetXMS 2.0.5 released

I ran an upgrade last night. Debian repo only has 2.0.4 and not 2.0.5. Please advise.

Thanks Victor and to the devs. This looks like a good release as it fixes a few issues that impacted us.

Hi,

I've just upgraded from 1.2.17 to 2.0M1 and now I get the following error when I try to run the administrator console.

---------------------------
Nxmc
---------------------------
Failed to load the JNI shared library "C:\NetXMS\bin\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll".

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I've installed the latest JRE and JDK. But this didn't help. I also tried the 64 bit versions.

I'm using the 64 bit administrator console on Windows 7 64 bit.

Any advise is welcome.

Regards,

R

Victor, the .debs on the download page also don't fully work with debian 7. Below is the output from my test. (note that I do an apt-get install -f after the dpkg -i for fixing deps)

Hi Victor,

I used the netxms repo for the installation. Is the repo still being maintained?

The line in my /etc/apt/sources.list is as follows,

# netxms repo
deb https://www.netxms.org/apt squeeze main

I'd like to use the apt repo because updates are then made much easier.

Regards,

R

Спасибо, к следующему релизу приведу в порядок пакеты.

Thanks, I'll fix packages until next release.

Hi Victor,

I have just tried to install on a new test server and the same issue came up. Your packages require libssl0.9.8 and Debian 7 has no installation candidate for this lib.

Please advise, as we would like to move to a new server that would allow upgrades to take place via apt. The current state of the mirror is not allowing us to do this.

Regards,

R

Just for information - 1.2.12 available as wheezy build (on web site download page and at https://www.netxms.org/apt/dists/wheezy/main/) and as squeeze build (at https://www.netxms.org/apt/dists/squeeze/main/).

When I try install the new builds, I get this message on Debian 7.4 64bit.

root@netxms:~# apt-get install netxms-agent netxms-base netxms-server-mysql

I can't install libssl0.9.8 from the repo, its not there.

Install from package:
https://packages.debian.org/squeeze/libssl0.9.8

Thanks, I came right by switching the repo to squeeze, installing the lib and then switching the repos back to wheezy before installing netxms. I'm reporting the issue as the netxms packages are not fixed yet.

Debian 7 -- это wheezy, а на https://www.netxms.org/apt есть только пакеты, собранные для squeeze.
Оттуда растёт зависимость от libssl0.9.8, которая есть в squeeze, но отсутствует в wheezy.
Добавьте в /etc/apt/sources.list репозиторий squeeze и поставьте libssl0.9.8

Thanks, for this nudge in the right direction. I switched my repo to squeeze, installed the library and then switched back. Netxms and the agent are starting now.  ;)

Hi!

Currently upper limit for bar/tube chart is determined by max value of added elements. I'll add a feature request for setting custom max value for chart.

Best regards,
Victor

Can the max value be set on the element somehow and if so how? If not, what is the recommended way to display the value of the percentage of a volume's space that is used?

I was considering using a dial, but then it would look like the CPU dials and this might be confusing to the users.

R

+1 for a Debian repo

Hi,

I'm trying to create a tube chart for the disk usage on each of my servers. When I use a dial chart for CPU usage, there is a maximum value field that I can fill. I don't see this in the tube chart config.

I'm using the instructions for creating the DCI given here: https://www.netxms.org/forum/configuration/configure-certain-servers-to-monitor-disk-space-using-netxms/

I found the missing disk.free value by reading this: https://www.netxms.org/forum/configuration/disk-parameters-missing/msg7205/#msg7205

When I add the newly created DCI for the disk C: to the tube chart then I don't see a field to add the maximum value like when I did the dial chart. Is this how it should be or is there another way to get the tube chart to render relative to the maximum value of 100%? The numbers on the left of my chart that indicate percentage don't go all the way to 100%. I've attached a screenshot to show the issue.

Regards,

R
