Hi thanks for a great product, and Thank you for the new maintenance mode! its great!
one question, is there anyway to trigger maintenance mode for a node remotely with script, i was thinking along the lines of monitor event log on node and on server reboot (if its related to server patch) then i would trigger a 15 minute maintenance window. is this do able?

regards!

General Support / Procurve node corrupted in database
August 13, 2014, 02:30:12 PM
Hi

I have a number af Procurve switches that i would like to monitor with Netxms, some 5406zl and some 8212zl models

now my problem is this, i have added 2 8212zl nodes and one is monitored correctly in netxms the other one is not. i know that snmp works correctly on both. I have other monitoring software that are able to communicate with both.

It looks like there was a problem with either switch or netxms or both the first time i tried to add the switch that does not monitor correctly, and now even though i remove and readd the node it still wont use snmp for communication.

is there a way to completely remove a node with all informations from the db or do i have to reintall netxms? and if so is there a way to export / import all my other functioning nodes and dci's / template - the works?

General Support / Webui 1.2.7 64 bit
July 09, 2013, 12:57:11 PM
Hi i just updated webui with version 1.2.7 to match the new server core binary, but when i open the site in my browser all i get is a blank grey page with title Netxms management Console, and then nothing, Ive tried to uninstall / reinstall webui since the first installation was an upgrade from 1.2.6 but it doesn't help. andy ideas?

Oh yeah and another "funny" thing, when i start the webui service, it immediately uses 100% cpu, and keeps on doing that, for however long i let the service run.

General Support / Using ssl on the new webui
April 25, 2012, 04:51:22 PM
Hi

After playing around with the new webui i noticed in the configfile an option for a secure web listener on port 8443 but when using that port i get no response from webserver, is this not implemented yet or do i need to setup something more than default in ordet to use this?

furthermore is it - or will it be - possible to use ldap / active directory / radius logon with this new webservice - or alternative maybe to provide option to store login in cookie and then use a url in an alert som that one can click on this link and see more details on the alert from the webview?

Hi

i have a temperature monitoring device that logs temperature to an onboard log file accessible over web like this : http://ipadress/spilog.txt

i logs the temperature ever 5 minutes in this format:

2012/03/23;09:35:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;09:35:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0;
2012/03/23;09:40:00;0;0;1;59300;276;
2012/03/23;09:40:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;09:40:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0;
2012/03/23;09:45:00;0;0;1;59300;276;
2012/03/23;09:45:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;09:45:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0;
2012/03/23;09:50:00;0;0;1;59300;277;
2012/03/23;09:50:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;09:50:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0;
2012/03/23;09:55:00;0;0;1;59300;276;
2012/03/23;09:55:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;09:55:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0;
2012/03/23;10:00:00;0;0;1;59300;275;
2012/03/23;10:00:00;0;3;3;1;0;2;0;3;0;
2012/03/23;10:00:00;0;4;2;151;0;152;0

now i would like to collect info from: where i can identify the temp monitor and current value
2012/03/23;10:00:00;0;0;1;59300;275;
device---------------------------^
current value----------------------------^  <- in this case the temperature is 27,5 degrees celcius

what approach is the best in order log log and alert based upon these values?

General Support / Using best notification action
March 21, 2012, 01:03:31 PM
Hi

my question is this:
can i scipt an action that chooses between sendiing sms or execute command depending on status of a situation?

i have an action for sending sms and an action that sends an online notification to my notifo account via curl

i also have a situation evaluation if there is internet access called internetaccess - i have used this to evaluate if a ping to an external host should generate an alarm based upon avaliability of my router and firewall.

i would like my action to notify me via the execute command action when there is internet access but then to default to sending sms when no internet is accessible.

is this possible and if it is - how do i do this in the smartest way?

Feature Requests / Client for Iphone
January 02, 2012, 04:45:42 PM
Hi i realise that this might be an unwelcome question seeing that netXMS is open source  ;)

But - do you think that there ever will be an Iphone Client for netXMS? - sadly i have been forced by my workplace to use an Iphone instead of an Android !  ::)

General Support / Problems with logwatch
December 14, 2009, 02:13:03 PM
Hi

Hopefully someone can help me understand what is going wrong.

I'm trying to monitor a log file for changes using logwatch.

The logfile is one i'm creating using dos rasdial to connect to a vpn and do certain tests, so log format is:

14-12-2009 13:05:00,19
Connecting to BDO PPTP...
Verifying username and password...
Registering your computer on the network...
Successfully connected to BDO PPTP.
Command completed successfully.

Pinging 10.1.25.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Reply from 10.1.25.1: bytes=32 time=90ms TTL=128

Reply from 10.1.25.1: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=128

Reply from 10.1.25.1: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 10.1.25.1:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    Minimum = 34ms, Maximum = 90ms, Average = 52ms

Pinging 10.1.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Reply from 10.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=63

Reply from 10.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=63

Reply from 10.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=63

Ping statistics for 10.1.1.1:

    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost = 1 (25% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

    Minimum = 34ms, Maximum = 34ms, Average = 34ms

Command completed successfully.

then i'm using logwatch and try to look for changes, but so far all i can catch is the ping failure, maybe my regex code is wrong?
