Hi All
I have 3 different networks I need to track with NetXMS, Networks A and B are directly connected with full visibility, Netxms server sits on net A.
Network C is completely separated from A and B and I only have one linux box connected to B and C, and that's where I have installed NetXMS agent, which obviously has two interfaces, two Ips and have fully view of both B and C networks and can connect directly to A network and to the server.

My understanding is that the agent should be able to detect and snmp collect all net devices in Network C, but I am not getting it to work

- Agent is properly detected by the server (isAgent Yes)
- Zones are enabled, I have created a new zone, move the agent inside the zone  and set the agent as proxy-node for the zone. Inside the new zone I see networks B and C, both have the agent inside, but no other network devices re shown
- In network discovery I have set network C to be reachable via agent.
- Agent is configured as proxy and snmpproxy

Obviously from agent server I can directly ping and snmpwalk every device on the Network C.

Any ideas? I would hate to address this via NAT and ip forwarding or installing the server on linux box

Hi there
I am trying to monitor 2-3 networks with are directly connected, but I have no access to routers or switches, just icm on servers and other equipment. While local network works ok, the nodes belonging to the other networks are not discovered automatically even if I can ping the servers from the shells. If I add the nodes from the remote network manually, everything works as expected, but I would rather have them to be detected automatically and without setting an agent inside the network.

In other instances of netxms, when I have snmp access to routers and switches, network discovery worked as charm, but not in this case.

Network discovery is set to active & passive, no filters.

¿Any idea?

Hi
I am using Custom Atributes to store information you can not retrieve via snmp, more like Inventory details. The issue with them is that there is no easy and quick way to access them but the properties menu, or at least i have not found one. Would be possible to use a new section on the overview tab like Comments section or a new tab  in Object Details.

Some example of information i am tracking there are PO number/Invoice number, service numbers, IMEIs for mobile phones, gurateee extensions, and so on.

Thanks

I am a big fan of maps and displaying bandwith on them help me a lot to diagnose bandwidth issues, but to show the values in a proper format (like 45 Mbps vs 47185920 bps) you need to create new DCIs to do calculations based on the existing DCI with Dummy and GetDCIValue. (as the formatter does not allow to do this). Shouldn't be much simpler to allow the use of automatic multipliers like in "Last Values" or in the graphs?

Unless there is any other way of showing properly scaled values in the maps :-)

Thanks

General Support / Duplicated Objects in 2.0-RC1
September 19, 2015, 07:33:28 PM
Hi
I am running 2.0-RC1 in Windows7, mysql Database (vm in ESX server). As my dhcp server is providing different ip addresses to already detected devices (always in the same subnet) i am getting duplicated objects in both "Entire Network" section and Infrastructure section. Most of the objects did not support snmp, but shouldn't netxms detect mac addresses are the same and change the existing object instead of duplicate it?

A similar situation happened with the Windows7 i am running netxms server, i manually changed the ip address  of the server and this resulted in having also a duplicated object, as this is the server i expected it to detect the ip change and not duplicate the object (no netxms agent is installed in the server though)

Any idea/suggestion to avoid having to remove/update duplicated objects? I know that extending lease time or making it forever would solve the problem, but in anycase i have to change  manually ip addresses from time to time and i would like to avoid manually fixing objects.

Thanks!
