Hi there,

I have my NetXms server installed on a Windows W2k8 Std R2 X64.
I noticed that all Internal DCI's that only the NXServer provides are all "Unsupported".
Other DCI's like NetXms Agent DCI's are fine.

I'm debugging the NXAgent installed on this server but no errors.
If I manually "Activate" the Internal DCI's, they immediately come back to unsupported.

Here's the startup Debug of my NXClient from this Server

Hello,

The following event is triggered on my Event Log and usually happens when an ADSL Link becomes down. I can see the Ip address become 0.0.0.0/0 :

27.03.2015 16:21:26 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_DELETED Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" deleted (IP Addr: 200.171.186.9/255.255.255.255, IfIndex: 4)
27.03.2015 16:21:26 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_ADDED Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" added (IP Addr: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, IfIndex: 4)
27.03.2015 16:24:19 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_UP Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" changed state to UP (IP Addr: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, IfIndex: 4)

I want to trigger an particular Alarm when it happens, and of corse, automatically end that Alarm when the IP isn't 0.0.0.0/0 anymore. To do that I need to use Filtering Scripts to analyze the "Message" of the Event. I'm also filtering by Event Code but I need help with the Script.

if ($event->message like "0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0"){
  return true; // Match rule
}

And to end the Event, I'm just denying (!) the script :

if ($event->message !like "0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0"){
  return true; // Match rule
}

But the filtering seems to not work, every event with any value is triggered.
Can someone help me with this filtering script please  ?

Thanks in advance !

General Support / database locked error
July 18, 2014, 12:03:23 AM
Hi there,

I'm running version 1.2.13 on a windows 2008 x64 R2 with a built in database type.
Bellow is a debug session result of the following command : netxmsd.exe -D4 >c:\netxmsd.log
Looking on the log file, there are several events like the one bellow.

[17-Jul-2014 17:50:21.513] SQL query failed (Query = "UPDATE raw_dci_values SET raw_value=?,transformed_value=?,last_poll_time=? WHERE item_id=?"): database is locked
[17-Jul-2014 17:50:21.559] SQL query failed (Query = "INSERT INTO dct_column_names (column_id,column_name) VALUES (?,?)"): database is locked
[17-Jul-2014 17:50:33.915] SQL query failed (Query = "INSERT INTO event_log (event_id,event_code,event_timestamp,event_source,event_severity,event_message,root_event_id,user_tag) VALUES (8896895,29,1405630197,728,0,'Node up',0,'')"): database is locked

I already tried to run a nxdbmgr -f unlock and that returns ok, but the problem persists.

After sometime running, I see that some threads hangs up ... and that's when the mess starts.
Running a nxadm -i and executing show watchdog I can see that both Syncer Thread and Pool Manager gets "Not Responding" after sometime.

[17-Jul-2014 17:54:04.016] Thread "Syncer Thread" does not respond to watchdog thread

I guess the problem is regarding unlock this database ...
I also noticed a weird behaviour on the netxmsd daemon startup :

General Support / Log Monitoring Parser file help
October 03, 2013, 05:53:23 PM
I'm having problems to create an efficient filter.
This event is logged on my file, and i'm not able to filter it

[INFO ][SERVER] [03/10/2013 10:24:03] Iniciando Programa SIGAADV Thread 2040 (RM,SAO-B15TZ91)

All I want is to match "[INFO ][SERVER]" and send the rest of the line as a parameter (.*)
If someone has some documentation of the sintax and acceptable characters that I can use, that would help me a lot.

I've been using this Fórum post as refference, but i'm not sure about the sintax ..

General Support / Help Monitoring WAN Links
April 17, 2013, 04:45:31 PM
Hi there,

Sorry for the question that seems to be silly .. but I have to ask for help.

I'm monitoring through SNMP some remote Firewalls.
Those firewalls are connected to here using a VPN Link, So using SNMP with the LAN IP address is a good solution to monitor it.

Now, I want to monitor the internet Link.
Each firewall has several internet links on different interfaces.
I want to pool the public IP to know if that particular link is down or up ..
In NetXMS I cannot create another "Node" because it says that that IP already exists.
So I'm not really sure how to pool from here, the public IP using ICMP maybe to know if the link is down or up, because the interface will be always Up .. I cannot monitor based on the port State.

I need to use NetXms or another node to pool the public IP. If the Ping doesn't respond let's say for 3 unsuccessful attempts, I want to trigger an "node Down" alert.

Thanks in advance.

General Support / Upgrade Error from 265 to 266
April 05, 2013, 11:12:47 PM
Hi there,

Yesterday I tried to upgrade to the newest version 1.2.6 from version 1.2.4 ..
Unfortunatelly the upgrade did not suceed and even trying to install 1.2.4 again, I cannot get the database running again.
I followed the instructions from these posts, but no success.

I deleted my [event_log] table, re-created it and the error is still the same ..
I really don't have an idea of what's the problem, I don't have much knowledge in SQL ..

General Support / WMI Query to monitor eventviewer
October 31, 2011, 02:53:27 PM
Hi there,

I´m using this WMI Query to monitor if a particular event happened on windows eventviewer.

WMI.Query(root\CIMV2\, Select * from Win32_NTLogEvent Where Logfile = 'Application' and EventType = '1' and EventCode = '9006')

The query works great fine, but in WMI it returns several Rows, and I believe that netxms doesn´t know how to deal with those results. So I tried to "Count", but in WMI Count is a property, and not a function. So I cannot make changes in WMI side.

I´m looking for clarification if this is supported in Netxms, or if can I use a transformation script or something like this to get a number of rows, or a value that Netxms can understand and display.

Ideas are great apreciated.

Thanks in advance

General Support / Maintenance time notifications
July 16, 2010, 05:07:08 PM
Hi,

I have some maintenance and backup plans during the night.
Some services become down, and some servers reboots.
So i´m notified about those events by Netxms, and that´s great.

Is there a way to create an exception during that time ?
For example, I make backups of some virtual machines, and they become down during that time. I can´t increase the status pool time to 40min, understand ? only during that time that I know what´s going on.
The same thing happen to some services that I monitor.

Ideas are welcome,

Thanks in advance

General Support / Netxms Agent Traps
June 30, 2010, 03:40:36 PM
Hi,

I couldn´t find anything about Agent Traps, so I have to ask.
Does Windows Agent support sending SNMP Traps ? If yes, how do I use ?

My idea is to receive a trap when something critical happens like a shutdown is initiated on a server.

Thanks in advance.

General Support / Send SMS Text Alerts
June 29, 2010, 01:20:57 AM
Hi,

I want to configure Netxms to send SMS messages.
I´ve searched a lot, and I found some things here in this forum, but I want to confirm if is there a specific device that Netxms supports, in case I need to buy one.
I found some stuff about use a terminal program, to connect to a COM Modem, and send some AT commands.
I believe that netxms "sms.nsm" uses this kind of commands, only specifying the COM port name. Right ?

have someone configured this already ?

I have here a Huawei E226 3G modem, but so far no progress... I apreciate comments and ideas.

Thanks in advance

General Support / MIB Import error
June 17, 2010, 01:10:11 AM
Hi,

I´m having problems to import a MIB file from a Storage Fujitsu DX80.
I´m using Windows, and running the following Command : c:\NetXMS\bin\nxmibc.exe -d c:\netxms\var\mibs

The mib file is attached.
The error is the following :
FJDARY-E60
FJDARY-E60: WARNING 006: Cannot resolve data type "PhysAddress" for object "fjdaryLanportHwAddress0"
FJDARY-E60: WARNING 006: Cannot resolve data type "PhysAddress" for object "fjdaryLanportHwAddress1"

The export log is attached also.
The FJDARY-E60.MIB was renamed to FJDARY-E60.MIB.txt and placed on the MIBS folder.
I´ve tryed deleting parts of the MIB header´s file, but the error is always on the same line ...
I´m running out of ideas ... does someone have any in mind to share ?

General Support / NetXMS Console Freezes
August 27, 2009, 05:41:42 PM
Hi there,

I just want to relate a strange behaviour that have been the same in at least 4 versions releases ..
I have some Graphs that I usually let opened during my working time.
They show-me in a refresh of 30sec the Inbound and outbound of internet traffic, MPLS links, and SMTP queues.
What happens is that after some hours with those graphs opened, the NetXMS Console window just freezes, and mess up with my screen.
As workaround, I just close it, and open again and it works fine for some hours.

I believe that this console window have some cache, that maybe become full.
If I son´t open graphs, and just open for example Object Browser, It works all day long just fine.
Just to document, and help inprove this excelent software.

Thanks

General Support / Determine node Down
January 26, 2009, 11:17:59 PM
Hi Folks,

Netxms is working perfectly for almost a year over here, but sometimes it full my mailbox of alerts of nodes down.
I need to increase the time that it determines if a node is down or not ... like if the last 5 or 10 pool requests are less than 1 .. then the node is down ....
I guess that you will say "that´s easy" but how to do that for all objects without needing to edit one by one ?

ALTER TABLE dci_schedules ADD schedule_id integer not null
Rolling back last stage due to upgrade errors...
Database upgrade failed

When trying to execute the same command from Query analyzer, I get this error back :

ALTER TABLE only allows columns to be added that can contain nulls or have a DEFAULT definition specified. Column 'schedule_id' cannot be added to table 'dci_schedules' because it does not allow nulls and does not specify a DEFAULT definition.

I need ideas ...

General Support / Instalation Move to Production
August 01, 2008, 04:47:41 AM

Hello there,

I was testing Netxms, and now I need to move it to production.
I´m Using the same SQL Server, and Database.
I made a fresh instalation and conected to the same database. But It didn´t work. My objects are missing ... What do I have to copy to move everything from a server to another ?

My test environment was using the latest version, so I didn´t have to make any upgrade. I´m just moving.

Any ideas ?

General Support / NETXMS lost all MAC addresses
March 27, 2008, 02:09:36 PM
Hello there,

I´m using V.2.19 with Netxms client on monitored servers.
After a specific date, I noticed that Netxms server isn´t collecting any client DCI. only client status.
I noticed then that all my Mac addresses for the nics under each node were gone.
the problem can be simply solved deleting the node and adding it again. but this way I loose my history because it creates another object ID.

Have anybody ever had a problem like this ?

Right now I´m seeing the tables from the database, looking for the field where it stores tme MAC addresses, I guess if I change it there, it will work again.

Anyway, if anyone have a better idea, please post .

General Support / Netxms Alarm Viewer icons not displayed
February 25, 2008, 07:55:10 PM

Hello there,

I´m using the 2.19 version for Windows.
When I open the alarm viewer on a desktop that has only installed the Agent, it displays me everything, less the icons in front of each iten in the columns Severity and State.
The images are like a square with a red cross inside.
I guess it´s a permission issue, but i´m an administrator on both machines.

Can someone help me ?
