Hi Alex,

No, I haven't changed the IP, but I've changed this object to a new Zone ID 7.
I changed it back to zone ID 0 ( default ) but no success.
Is there a way to fix it ? I imagine that this will require some database manual edits, but if you give me some directions, I can do the rest.

Thank you !

Hi there,

I have my NetXms server installed on a Windows W2k8 Std R2 X64.
I noticed that all Internal DCI's that only the NXServer provides are all "Unsupported".
Other DCI's like NetXms Agent DCI's are fine.

I'm debugging the NXAgent installed on this server but no errors.
If I manually "Activate" the Internal DCI's, they immediately come back to unsupported.

Here's the startup Debug of my NXClient from this Server

Does someone recomends other troubleshooting steps ?
I'm a little bit lost because I don't know where those Internal DCI's come from or are handled....

Thanks in advance.

Klaus,

The fastest way for you to send e-mails is to ask your e-mail administrator to trust your internal IP so you can send unauthenticated e-mails. This isn't the best scenario but often used.
Regarding send SMS, you can use several 3G modems attached to the USB interface of your server. It the modem supports AT commands, the SMS will be sent. You can test it using any terminal program like Hyperterminal in windows, putty, Screen, etc.
Regarding SMS Agent windows log monitoring, just search around for "logwatch parser"

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much, that solved the problem. I was so focused on the message that I forgot to think out of the box.
Do you know how can I fix the syntax of the expression analyzing the "message" string of the Event ? That will help me in other cases ...
I'm trying to do like says here : https://www.netxms.org/forum/configuration/script-some-generic-questions/msg3186/#msg3186

Thank you very much again !

Hello,

The following event is triggered on my Event Log and usually happens when an ADSL Link becomes down. I can see the Ip address become 0.0.0.0/0 :

27.03.2015 16:21:26 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_DELETED Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" deleted (IP Addr: 200.171.186.9/255.255.255.255, IfIndex: 4)
27.03.2015 16:21:26 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_ADDED Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" added (IP Addr: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, IfIndex: 4)
27.03.2015 16:24:19 NCTSP_FGT_60D SYS_IF_UP Normal Interface "VIVO_50MB" changed state to UP (IP Addr: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0, IfIndex: 4)

I want to trigger an particular Alarm when it happens, and of corse, automatically end that Alarm when the IP isn't 0.0.0.0/0 anymore. To do that I need to use Filtering Scripts to analyze the "Message" of the Event. I'm also filtering by Event Code but I need help with the Script.

if ($event->message like "0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0"){
  return true; // Match rule
}

And to end the Event, I'm just denying (!) the script :

if ($event->message !like "0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0"){
  return true; // Match rule
}

But the filtering seems to not work, every event with any value is triggered.
Can someone help me with this filtering script please  ?

Thanks in advance !

Awesome Alex.
Thank you very much. I'll migrate and post back. But seems easy and I guess there won't be problems.

Also Just an update, The problem is solved following the steps from this post. http://techblog.dorogin.com/2011/05/sqliteexception-database-disk-image-is.html
After re-creating my database that was 3.5GB, now it has 1.0Gb and pretty fast.
I'll proceed with the database migration.

Thanks again.

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much, that helped me a lot and it seems that the problem is solved, but in a different way.
I could not run the command you gave me, it returns me incomplete or args missing. So I started exploring SQLite commands and I found an SQLite Explorer on this link : http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/
The main problem I believe that's the Event Monitor rows bellow :

23.07.2014 10:40:22 W2K8-NETXMS Critical SYS_DB_QUERY_FAILED Database query failed (Query: INSERT INTO event_log (event_id,event_code,event_timestamp,event_source,event_severity,event_message,root_event_id,user_tag) VALUES (8918460,100002,1406122787,1425,1,'Memory Utilization is too high',0,''); Error: database is locked)
23.07.2014 10:40:31 W2K8-NETXMS Critical SYS_DB_QUERY_FAILED Database query failed (Query: UPDATE raw_dci_values SET raw_value=?,transformed_value=?,last_poll_time=? WHERE item_id=?; Error: database is locked)
23.07.2014 10:40:31 W2K8-NETXMS Critical SYS_DB_QUERY_FAILED Database query failed (Query: INSERT INTO dct_column_names (column_id,column_name) VALUES (?,?); Error: database is locked)

So I decided to clean the event_log database running the following command : "delete from event_log" and after that, it's working back to normal. So far no "database locked errors."

I also found this link very useful, where they talk about the only way to recover from a database lock events, is copying the database to another location. Which means that the lock is directly related to a process accessing the disk database file.
Maybe the problem was related to the ammount of data stored on a single table as explained on the link bellow.
http://sqlite.org/limits.html

I hope all this information that will remain on this forum can help someone else in the future, that's why I tried to put as much details as possible.

Also thank you very much again Alex. I'll work now in migrating this DB to PostgreSQL. I'll apreciate if you can share more information on how to migrate the database. I tried to run "nxdbmgr migrate c:\file" and it starts and crashes when the new file gets around 9Mb...

Hi Victor,
Thanks for the always fast answer.

I'm using no 3rd party DB engine, on this install I selected builtin database ...
On the NetXms folder /database there's a file called netxms_db.
I already rebooted this server several times ..

Is there any way to read this file ? is it mysql ? maybe edit it.

Thanks !!!

General Support / database locked error
July 18, 2014, 12:03:23 AM
Hi there,

I'm running version 1.2.13 on a windows 2008 x64 R2 with a built in database type.
Bellow is a debug session result of the following command : netxmsd.exe -D4 >c:\netxmsd.log
Looking on the log file, there are several events like the one bellow.

[17-Jul-2014 17:50:21.513] SQL query failed (Query = "UPDATE raw_dci_values SET raw_value=?,transformed_value=?,last_poll_time=? WHERE item_id=?"): database is locked
[17-Jul-2014 17:50:21.559] SQL query failed (Query = "INSERT INTO dct_column_names (column_id,column_name) VALUES (?,?)"): database is locked
[17-Jul-2014 17:50:33.915] SQL query failed (Query = "INSERT INTO event_log (event_id,event_code,event_timestamp,event_source,event_severity,event_message,root_event_id,user_tag) VALUES (8896895,29,1405630197,728,0,'Node up',0,'')"): database is locked

I already tried to run a nxdbmgr -f unlock and that returns ok, but the problem persists.

After sometime running, I see that some threads hangs up ... and that's when the mess starts.
Running a nxadm -i and executing show watchdog I can see that both Syncer Thread and Pool Manager gets "Not Responding" after sometime.

[17-Jul-2014 17:54:04.016] Thread "Syncer Thread" does not respond to watchdog thread

I guess the problem is regarding unlock this database ...
I also noticed a weird behaviour on the netxmsd daemon startup :

netxmsd: Using configuration file "C:\NetXMS\etc\netxmsd.conf"

General Support / Log Monitoring Parser file help
October 03, 2013, 05:53:23 PM
I'm having problems to create an efficient filter.
This event is logged on my file, and i'm not able to filter it

[INFO ][SERVER] [03/10/2013 10:24:03] Iniciando Programa SIGAADV Thread 2040 (RM,SAO-B15TZ91)

All I want is to match "[INFO ][SERVER]" and send the rest of the line as a parameter (.*)
If someone has some documentation of the sintax and acceptable characters that I can use, that would help me a lot.

I've been using this Fórum post as refference, but i'm not sure about the sintax ..

General Support / Help Monitoring WAN Links
April 17, 2013, 04:45:31 PM
Hi there,

Sorry for the question that seems to be silly .. but I have to ask for help.

I'm monitoring through SNMP some remote Firewalls.
Those firewalls are connected to here using a VPN Link, So using SNMP with the LAN IP address is a good solution to monitor it.

Now, I want to monitor the internet Link.
Each firewall has several internet links on different interfaces.
I want to pool the public IP to know if that particular link is down or up ..
In NetXMS I cannot create another "Node" because it says that that IP already exists.
So I'm not really sure how to pool from here, the public IP using ICMP maybe to know if the link is down or up, because the interface will be always Up .. I cannot monitor based on the port State.

I need to use NetXms or another node to pool the public IP. If the Ping doesn't respond let's say for 3 unsuccessful attempts, I want to trigger an "node Down" alert.

Thanks in advance.
